Real question here: so my miles from the MegaDO charter posted to CO -- am at 57,157 elite miles -- why wouldn't my status automatically reflect 'gold' on my account? I figure I have to call the OPSC to clarify!

No, just that all of UA's 744s and International 763s are being done converted. The only international wide bodies that don't have them are the 777s.

SQ's 345s are not available for Star mileage redemption.

What he said. The only seats SQ releases for *A redemption, at least in C or F, are the 744 flights. (JFK-FRA-SIN and LAX-NRT-SIN).

A call may be necessary. I suspect it has to do with how the miles were posted. Even though they are EQMs, they aren't listed as a flight and I wouldn't be surprised if that breaks it.

That's because UA can't afford to convert them.

Actually, it's something about the new Y seats they're installing. Apparently, they didn't pass a 16-G crash test, so they needed to do some re-engineering.

That's what I was thinking -- the miles just appeared -- no notation as to what they are related to!;) Hey, but I'm not complaining!:D

I am going out to LA in Dec -- so will be that much closer to PLAT -- can I request a 'status advance' after that trip posts -- in order to qualify for Plat benes for my trip to PVR at xmas?! Yes, it's a non-refundable tkt -- but I am seeking to change the return & am looking for fee waiver that only comes w/Plat!

Interesting. I didn't realize that they were also fixing the Y section on the planes. I thought those weren't being retrofitted.

Those are supposed to AVOD and go to a 3-3-3 config. I didn't know they were replacing the entire seat though. UA is going to have a different Y config for each long haul A/C
744 3-4-3 with overhead video
777 3-3-3 with AVOD
763 2-3-2 with in-seat looped video.
