1. Fly on routes where elite population is low (i.e. not EWR-SFO)
2. Fly on days where elite population is low (Tues, Wed. Sat.)
3. Fly at times when the elite population is generally not moving (Saturday/Sunday redeyes can be good for this).
4. Look for aircraft with more FC inventory.

Not that anyone that dwells in teh B:rolleyes:x needs to be reminded, but for lurkers and/or folks new to teh game, this might be of value!

I can fill in the SkyTeam USA perspective for anyone who needs guidance, specifically points 1 and 4 above.

I made such a call today for bonii sign-up and am pleased to report success. Looks like 3 HP stays are in my future, earning 2 FFNs,7500 bonus points,+,+,+:D

The HP promotion is retroactive, so if you've had any HP stays recently you'll have more points this evening.

I'm about to call Hyatt to use some of my 3 remaining suite upgrades expiring in February (can't take them with me). Is it wrong to use a suite upgrade on a $48 a night room rate?

+1 on ST USA with me too. I can also offer guidance with One World USA for folks!

In Dunkin news, they had a Christmas ornament for sale today that I picked up. $3 for a snowman holding a box of donuts. It's ^. :-:

I might stop in our local Dunkin; as a native of the east coast I know plenty who would appreciate such an item as a talking point.

2.0 worked for me.^

Hi Box! Post and run.

Thanks for the tip.

Although the Canuck declared that she's "over Dunkin" (suspiciously this happened about a week after she discovered Tim Horton's in the NYC metro area) this might find its way onto our festivus pole. @:-)

Yeah, that's my jealous face. I'm only at ~525K and have no idea what the next batch will look like.

Travel date is 12/1, maybe the fare will not go up too much, if DEQM's don't post till Monday

Buy whenever. Once you are Platinum AND the ZM inventory is available you can process the upgrade online or via the call center. You do not have to hold the status when purchasing the ticket.

Getting lounge access with BD*G doesn't require that I credit my domestic itinerary to BD, does it? CO*G on boarding pass + BD*G card will be OK, right?

Certainly fine. I've done it before. Just hand the agent your pile of BP, DL and *G card and smile until they let you in. Feel free to comment on the weather, their hair or other random small talk.

CO inventory - other than the reward stuff - is readily available from many free sources, including mine. No need for a paid subscription to anything to get at it. The reward inventory, on the other hand, isn't published anywhere so you're pretty much stuck with ANA or co.com.

Ok, that's what I thought. Thanks.

That's a big if.

I'm finding auto-up M and B fares to be about as common as Dodo sightings on the routes I'm flying lately.

Excellent Continental Cuisine which they claim is real Dutch cooking. Not a budget place, however. Main courses come in between 25 and 30 Euros.

Thank you for the recommendations, both positive and negative. I haven't been in Amsterdam in 15 years so it should be interesting to see what has changed. Fortunately, I am not on a strict budget, and I'm too old for that anyway.
