I am thinking of defecting to UA.

Snarky? UA? Really?

That exchange was a certain  insisting that the CO fleet should get E+. Nevertheless, a change is in order. Stay tuned.

Teh Box, home of rational thinking on FT. Lord knows we do have a monopoly on that commodity - everywhere else turns into poo-flinging of the non-humorous kind.

fozz, I found a new fetish. I was walking back to the parking lot from the Flyers game last night and saw boots, accompanied by bell bottoms...and the bell bottoms were short enough that the heel was visible. The bell bottoms did something a little extra for the whole boot thing. I had to make an effort not to drool in front of the other half.

There is even a  that is mad that GS/1Ks aren't prioritized higher than Plats on CO metal.

I can't wait to see a GS flipout hissyfit at a CO counter in EWR. That GS is gonna get dropped like Spinks against Tyson.

I have never witnessed the  of (some) UA 1Ks first hand, so I am a little taken back but not completely surprised. I'm not even going to bother posting anything in the other threads...

I had a multi-quote set up after reading the posts, and I just closed the tab and came here. There's no point in entering that ruckus, more especially for me as a newbie to the status-flying world. Let the high-mile nutcases duke it out with each other.

Keep Plat where it is and a 1k CO flier would get higher priority for EUA's, maybe a higher mileage bonus, and a couple SWU's. Compelling to me.

CO should also formalize their version of GS.

All interesting points. CO will need to have a GS-equivalent, and that could very well be the fourth tier with Plat staying at 75k. Who knows.

Is there such a thing as US logic?

Yes, it just doesn't make any sense to us.

Speaking of US. Any idea on how to get to a person in their customer relations department?

Even though the airport staff said to call res and be transferred, res insists the only way to get a hold of them is via email or snail mail. I got a number, but it went to a VM promising they'd call back same day and that was yesterday.

But, yes, I guess I am. I've gone on record on FT saying the best thing to come out of the HP/US kerfuffle was the creation of the forth tier at the 75k level.

It costs them next to nothing, and provides an incentive to capture that extra bit of business from the 80 - 90k / year flier who might defect after hitting 50k to get low status on a back-up airline.

True, but we're down to three majors at this point if you consider CO/UA one, at least from a benefits standpoint.

Sadly, this could be good for DL in the NYC market.

I am thinking of defecting to UA.

Once CO starts doing SWUs (and I truly beleive it's a matter of when and not if) then the only thing they need to do is Skykits and i'd be set.

As long as you don't mind a middle seat that's fine. :-:

I'll take my chances with showing the *G card and asking for a better seat at the counter/gate. I'm about 50/50 now and haven't suffered in the middle on the "losing" 50%.

I'm done for leaving the box. Someone make sure to lock the door.

Multi-quoting is a Box Elite benefit available only on the Box member's birthday? Someone should tell baglady. :p

Actually, that hasn't been an issue. In most cases, it is to leisure routes where the regular seats are just about gone but E+ is empty.

At that point it's just a matter of getting to the gate asap and getting on the list with your request.

It actually works pretty well, but you do have to research your flights a bit to make sure you don't get stuck.

CO's Skykits will be the drink certs they give out when they end up not needing you for a VDB.
