Thermal printing.

There's your excuse to the airlines why you don't have them: a veritable dog-ate-the-essay line: " I left my boarding passes on the hotel room window ledge, and they all turned completely black."

For anyone at an outstation and for whom either airline is equally convenient, does it matter, then, which program one maintains status on (UA vs CO)?

The differences as I see now are: SWUS and CR1s for United, and a credit card that offers EQMs and cheaper wine in the club for CO. Ignoring transcons, are both of comparable quality in F anymore?

Nobody pays me to fly, so price matters for me, and CO is consistently less than UA whenever I look for tickets.

Are they of comparable quality in F? In my two recent samplings of UA F, I found the service to be as good if not better and the seat to be crap compared to the CO domestic F seat.

What's hilarious is that the City of Houston uses thermal printing for their parking receipts that must be left on the dash to prove time of parking.

I wonder if thermal bleaching has ever worked as a defense for a serial parking violator.

As do a lot of retail outlets what require you to present your receipt for warranty, for advertised periods long after the UV has done its job on that receipt.

I keep warranty receipts in the safe after scanning them to PDF at work.

Sorry I am late to say Happy Birthday Mike.

It's been a tough two days at work....I had almost nothing to do. Good lord we are getting good at making sure your luggage makes the same flight as you. I'm sure all of that will change with the first major storm of the winter season.

I'm tempted to wander into the upgrade thread and point out that all of this doesn't matter as EUA is broken. :D

I file mine, and hope I never have to pull them out. The darkness of a file cabinet gets rid of the UV effect and provides that nice fat  from the store upon seeing an original receipt in near-perfect shape.

Welcome back. I was looking for you the other night in a frenzied panic. But it's all good now.

Thanks very much. :-:

Good to know that all is well in SFObag world. Having nothing to do in your present position has its upside, I'm sure.

Do I really need to feed them. It only makes it more difficult for us.

The more they wander in the CO forum, the more likely the box will be discovered.

And that, sir, is yet another reason why you live close to the top of the cultural pyramid. On the other hand, for most it is not:

Billy: "Annabelle, we gotta take this battery we got Christmas four years ago back to WalMart. Where the h*ll is the receipt?"

Annabelle: "Well, the original is down in the vault. Do you think they will accept a laser-printed PDF in lieu?"

Yes, CM getting to "teh crux" of it as usual. Without casting aspersions, indeed certain "entitlement feelings" and braggadocio for the ability to exploit loopholes really at the end of day is nothing more than a big bag of .

In other news, coming at Y'all from the SC in JFK upstairs in T-2 waiting on flight to SFO in an hour or two.
