yes i understand this, and I know UA has a lot of West Coast elites, I am just saying that overall CO is not nearly as bad as the people that post it continually saying how bad the upgrade rates are. it is FULLY market based, and CO/UA having such is a good thing in the end for all, not a bad thing.
just like i posted there, having a system that works together doesnt mean a mass exodus of fliers from one to the other! I MAY fly UA 2-3 times a year, otherwise the simply don't go where I need to go. and in any case I'd have to fly a combo itin with CO and UA on the same. |

If I read correctly, UA softened up again on CR's: 1 per 10K BIS, max 2 per quarter.

Yup. I'm happy with that as it means I can continue to upgrade on PS without burning miles.

JEdward and others of course:), I tend to think that with CR-1s holding, free upgrades, etc. that UA-1K may now trump AA EXP as the top "top tier" (non-revenue based per se) in the domestic legacies. Only thing that EXPs still have is miles that are more usable with *Net blocking and achieve MM status on based on EQMs and RDMs of any variety. Thoughts Y'All? Of course, I think CO Plat is a pretty good gig too mind you for 75K!!

I am more than happy to host a private board and chat room for the box community.

AA also has no restrictions on the use of eVIPs. That's huge.

But I've still got to give the nod to AA for best top tier: 8 SWUs with no fare class restrictions, better advance upgrade inventory (IME) compared to UA, one way awards (!) and first class lounge access. Coupled with AA's need to be more generous to fight off competition (300% RDM!) has lead to some interesting trends this year. The downside of AA is a limited route network, loose integration with OW (but hopefully this will change once they get their AA/BA/IB JV approved) and older planes with a rougher hard and soft product then CO (peg them as about little better than UA in that regard, but that's just me.) There also seems to be an inherent bias in FT against AA (not the forum, but the program/airline itself) which I've never really understood as I've found it to be solid. <shrug> |

I think rampant, unrepentant chaos and  would kind of be the point to a Forum dedicated to meaningless accumulation of posts. :-:
If that current had to flow through genuine turbulence, and there were no theme, or the theme were drowned out in the dissonance, critical individuals would quickly become tired and frustrated, and leave. |
