I have been here since 6am and I have been regretting it ever since I got here. Apparently there was a power failure in the middle of the night and ups and generator failed so everything shut down for a few minutes. Since the power failure, everything has been a disaster. The computers are all wobbly bonkers and we are using back-ups of back-ups for some components. I want to go home already. |

- for Mackieman Many years ago, I was trying to filter a VERY powerful 50MHz signal (2KW to a quad yagi array adding aout 16db effective radiated) from a neighbors TV by coiling the power cord around a ferrite rod and at one point choked 60 Hz and had the set turn off. I had three fellow hams over to verify the weird event and it was fully reproducible. I finally convinced the neighbor to get cable and a new color TV. ;) We were both happier. 73 de N2BYU.

I wouldn't call 13-3 a decisive victory. That being said, UF is still the best team in the country.

sbm12, where did you stay when you were at Te Anau? Thanks.
Address:Lakefront Drive, Te Anau 9681, New Zealand Phone: +64 3 249 9700 Fax: +64 3 249 7947 It is a two story motel right across the street from the lake at the south end of town. Nothing amazing but pretty nice for the price. One thing that was a bit annoying to me about the hotel was the "lake view" claim. Technically, yes, you can see the lake but the tree-lined road between you and it gets in the way pretty good. I wouldn't pay extra for that. I've got plenty of other hotels and itinerary suggestions if you want. How long are you going to be in NZ? With your own car? I have great memories of that trip. |
Ah, minor milestone. Post 1300.

Total Wine gets good marks from lots of people but I had never seen one until they opened in Boca Raton last year. It had a pretty good selection although I was not wild about their layout and found it a bit difficult to find exactly what I wanted. That merely is quibbling since out of the first three bottles that I bought there, two were corked or spoiled in some way.

Glad you're home. On "not at home" news, this Hyatt Place has stepped it up - free Sunday newspaper eliminates one of my Sunday morning errands.

Good morning

Hyatt Place also had a sund paper, I think it was the local instead of the USa today as well, so that was a plus especially if you wanted to see ads for the local businesses that you my want to visit.

Forgive me Box but I did Kroger sin - I broke my grocery shopping moratorium a week early. I had to stop in for gas, gift cards, and free coffee (which don't count) and saw a beautiful London Broil for $2.79 a pound. I did get out with only the steak.
In related news, lunch en la casa de icurhere2 involves London Broil and eggs ... |
mmmm steak and eggs.

We made it back from the MR to SEA and my butt hurts. I was 4/4 on upgrades and my wife as silver would have been 2/4 on her own but was 3/4 with a little help from me.;)

Afternoon, Box.
London broil and eggs, yummy...just need Montreal seasoning. 13-3 is not decisive enough in the eyes of the college football gods at the NCAA...they foolishly believe that total offensive output is what makes for the decisiveness, ie running up the score. Lazy Sunday with the papers and my girl...life is good today. I have not had coffee since we walked for 35 minutes this morning...maybe there's something to that. |
