Distinction Te Anau Hotel
Address:Lakefront Drive, Te Anau 9681, New Zealand Phone: +64 3 249 9700 Fax: +64 3 249 7947 It is a two story motel right across the street from the lake at the south end of town. Nothing amazing but pretty nice for the price. One thing that was a bit annoying to me about the hotel was the "lake view" claim. Technically, yes, you can see the lake but the tree-lined road between you and it gets in the way pretty good. I wouldn't pay extra for that. I've got plenty of other hotels and itinerary suggestions if you want. How long are you going to be in NZ? With your own car? I have great memories of that trip. ETA: Good afternoon Box. |
Browns Won?!!! Yeah, it's only Buffalo but hey, we'll take it.

I would like to do some hikes and you mentioned one in another thread (I need to go back and look at it again) but not sure if there are any day hike tours that begins from Te Anau (still doing research). So I'm still debating whether to spend time at Te Anau or just stay the whole time in Queenstown.
ETA: Good afternoon Box. I found the glaciers more more impressive than the Sound, for example. There are hikes available from Te Anau, though I don't know if they are guided or self-run. |
Mobile posting.

I definitely wouldn't spend it all in ZQN. Where else is your tour taking you? I can make a few recommendations for other stuff to see and do or places to go based on that.

Is it wrong that I'm pondering the Fidelity Retirement AmEx to pair with dollar coins so I can max out my Roth IRA contributions next year with no funds out-of-pocket?

I'd go with the Schwab Visa and have the rewards put into whatever type of account you want. I didn't read the Fidelity details but with the Schwab card you can use it overseas without any foreign transaction fees.
