DBahn sounds like a douchy nick-name by the way. "Due, DBahn totally tapped that keg then popped his collar." |

I guess Im not the only one at work today  Seems like all my friends and my wife have today off.
I've never had a job where Columbus Day was a holiday. Maybe it's different in the Northeast, but in much of the country it seems the only people who get today off are those who work for a bank, post office, or government agency. Schools, colleges, and universities in the parts of the country where I've lived or worked most of the time never take it as a holiday. |
Howdy, Box.

I've seen it a half dozen times including in Sept. on a trans-con when there were, easily, 40 people on the upgrade list. 3E remained open.
It does happen. |

I haven't had Columbus Day off since Grade School. Don't get Presidents' Day, either (hence why I like MLK Day Weekend for Pandyberg Conferences).

For teh Chase experts out there, I need $125 to score 27,500 CO mi, right? $100 to open chase checking account for 25,000 (plus 5 transactions in the first billing period on the debit card to avoid $6 account maintenance fee). And $25 fee for the Chase CO Debit Card (2,500 miles).
I can close both after the first month and still net the points, correct? |
No school today. My block is MUCH quieter than usual. Breakfast at the coffee shop is actually tolerable.

I won't be getting Veteran's Day off next month either, another holiday that most non-government/non-bank employees never see. I once had a friend who worked for a bank. It was crazy how many holidays they took, even for totally forgettable "holidays" like Flag Day. |

Im just gonna do less today, and observe it on my own :D
At least the expense reports are almost done. I shouldn't let myself get so far behind. It's not good to run up the amount owed to me by the company well into five digit territory. |
