I am going to stop reading at Ua forums, they seem to take channas words as gospel truth that Plats have 1% upgrades on CO.
If you're flying transcons you can expect close to 0. A year or so ago Scott posted that on average only 1 person got upgraded on transcon flights (which really means that multiple people were getting upgraded on the off times/redeyes flights.) As an IAH'er I've enjoyed respectable rates to most markets as I've learned to avoid the primetime flights and peak destinations (or fly AA or UA :p) but being a CO elite in LAX/SFO is hard if you're doing it for the upgrades. |
Running away - need to get the car's oil changed before racquetball.

PostWhore could be so much more than just Teh Box. We could have TOS-free Troll Feeding Zones, and Courts of , where people could hurl all sorts of baseless accusations at each other, and the judges could add to or delete from post counts as necessary, amongst all sorts of other intriguing options.

Im installing a forum on a domain I had sitting around @:-)

they [are willing to be led to believe] that Plats have 1% upgrades on CO.
Edit: Of course this has revenue implications for CO; I am speaking purely from the standpoint of vested interest. |
Rumors are swirling that the day will end with 70-80 layoffs at the Associated Press.

I have to give UA props today.
My EWR-IAD-DEN-ABQ-ORD run on Sat got truncated to EWR-ORD due to a delayed IAD-DEN flight. Called them up today and they gave me original routing credit. No problems. When I got back to my computer, there they were. Last month I was on a MR consisting of two separate itins - AUS-LAX with LAX-BOS embedded. The return BOS-LAX was cancelled due to no pilot so I overnighted in BOS. AAs original solution (phone agent) was to get me home 12 hours later than scheduled. No can do. Talked to a GA who re-routed me back to AUS (BOS-DFW-AUS), hence I was out about 1750 or so miles for the run. Long story short - called customer service intending to ask for those additional miles and yes - I was going to ask for the miles from the separate itin they caused me to miss. Not only did they let me keep the BOS-AUS miles, they gave me BOS-LAX and LAX-AUS. Thanks AA. :D (Good afternoon Box!) |

A lot depends on the market. If you're a Plat out of SFO you'll be lucky to have greater than a 35% upgrade rate, assuming you're not buying M+ fares...and even then it's dicey.

I MAY fly UA 2-3 times a year, otherwise the simply don't go where I need to go. and in any case I'd have to fly a combo itin with CO and UA on the same. |

I think rampant, unrepentant chaos and  would kind of be the point to a Forum dedicated to meaningless accumulation of posts. :-:

I have tons of domains, and avialable servers, I just don't see need to make a forum dedicated to the box. making a new FT alternative may be an option if this  of servers keeps up, just to give the finger to IB.
