One won't find Great Lakes on tap in NYC (or hardly anywhere outside Ohio).

Indeed I was. (It's the part of Cleveland where Drew Carey comes from. Actually, I was in Brooklyn Heights, which would have been even more confusing.)

Culinary choices are limited off I-480 when you have two children with limited palates in tow. It was either that or Big Boy.

They already tried that route and it didn't work. They considered Charlie earlier but they thought he was too old. That was an incorrect decision and they had to bring Charlie on board to get the ratings up.

It didn't help that Bob Woodruff was injured in Iraq and his co-anchor Elizabeth Vargas got pregnant and had medical issues shortly after they replaced Peter Jennings.

I don't really watch football but the Cowboys are handing it to the Saints right now.

DCA and IAD just officially shut down until tomorrow morning (they were already in a de facto state of shutdown anyway).

I'm thinking I might have been wise to pack up some food from my home in TN - there's a full fridge in this HP.

I finally got to CMH. Just caught up on e-mail. Current conditions for PA Turnpike is not good, projecting well over 11 hours of driving tomorrow.

Safe to say that tomorrow is a fail for us in ACY. We tried to get out to my house and failed epic.

To all of you in the snow, be safe!

I don't like the sound of that ...

I got overruled. I wanted to time going to the Shore so as to be able to make a run into ACY, and she is paranoid about remaining snow and ice. :( I will try to change her mind based on tomorrow's conditions and call/text as needed.

I can now say there was something I couldn't see in the weather radars. The storm pickup a little swirl closing up the big gaps, and seems to have stalled and not moved north in the past few hours. I'm currently around 6 inches.

The PA Turnpike Authority is suggesting the Pike is all hosed.

We finally got the snow. I think we have about 4 or 5 inches at the moment. It seems to have slowed down now.

Be very careful driving. Take your time. It's nasty out there. Bring food with you. Bring a blanket in your car, just in case. Bring supplies.

The EWR weather thread is hilarious. All those people who think it's not coming to them. There's more than a foot on the ground here, and the streets are likely iced over already.

I suspect by 10 AM tomorrow it will be in decent to good shape.

Would not surprise me given the poor plowing job this area had to deal with.
