I just went outside for the first time today. There are about eight inches of snow on the ground and it is still snowing quite heavily. It is eerily quiet and there are hardly any cars on the road. Roads are barely passable, but buses are still operating. There are still people out walking their dogs and some other locals just wandering about, but most of the sidewalks have not yet been cleared. I observed a guy cursing at a failing snowblower, which was amusing, and observed a southerner (NC plates on his car) trying to figure out how one removes snow from one's windshield and car windows (what's a snowbrush?). That was so amusing that I actually stopped and watched for awhile. Going to go out again relatively soon and try to grab some photos of the snowed-over cityscape and people behaving stupidly in the snow.

You probably did the right thing to switch your flight to last night -- esp. since the weather is already snowy in other parts of the East Coast! :-: The worst thing would be to have been dealing with any potential delays this morning, or possible flt CX!:rolleyes:

Even people not into hockey can appreciate this. Click the only goal in the 3rd period, by Bryce Salvador. NHL.com won't let me hotlink to the video clip.

There's a river, not unlike this one, near Vilnius, where my grandfather taught me to fish.

That is all probably true. OW needs to get its act together IMHO though. If there are any more defections and ATI does not go through for IB/BA/AA TATL could be a real problem for them.

Not so important for *A types, but for any of us that use OW, it appears from both the DL and AA Forums that JAL is going with ST. That is a most :rolleyes:development. It does not do any of us consumers any good for DL to have more power in Asia. Oh well ..... tis the way of things.:(
I figured out how to make the photo gallery stuff work on my lounge guide. I'm slowly populating it with the pictures I have. Here's one example (though not great photos). |

We're a 100 miles from the nearest naval base. |

Is there more out there on this since the rumors that were vehemently denied yesterday? I also wonder if the Japanese government would make them give up some slots at NRT or HND. Putting JL and NW's slots together would be pretty crazy.

Don't they have an arm and gloves. You can quickly clear snow by using your arm as a giant snow brush.

Same rumors that were vehemently denied yesterday. Though I've found the more vehemently a rumor is denied, the more likely it is to be true.

My father's car had the tire pressure light come on today - 24 hours before he is driving to Summit NJ for a few days. He is very  right now.
