Agreed, but if the scenario presents itself, I'm more than happy to let them endorse me over to CO or UA and make a stop or two.

Very true...in fact, bump + endorse over to CO/UA would be the preferred option for me.

I like the concept of drinking a plane dry but there really is a LOT of alcohol involved in such an effort. Some of the bits are easy - rum, Grand Marnier & Kahlua, for example - but there is a ton of vodka and a pretty decent selection of bad wine in the back. We'd have to come up with a pretty serious game plan before attempting such.

Attack the wine and vodka last so that it's more of a liquid going down that you don't taste.

Just remembered; UA Is Not Possible. Final destination is FLL.

I could be persuaded to try it for a metric butt-ton of compensation...paid SEPTA, paid Amtrak, large VDB would be the minimum at which I'd consider that.

You would just get a cab voucher to the train station in that situation, not SEPTA.

I can't imagine CLT being an option either. Either way it'll be interesting.

What took you so long to get to 500??

My seatmap on Useless.com is showing that there would need to be a minor miracle for this flight to fill up, much less oversell.

A valid point, but would it be possible for CM to get up to EWR and get on a flight from there that might not be as bad?

EWR will be just as bad if not worse.

Good luck on getting a bump. As I said before, your chances are likely excellant but reasonable reaccomidation option on any carrier may be slim considering the week and the potental for major disruptions nationwide caused by this in the next 24 hours w/ planes out of position. I guess you can always see if they'd put you on one of the few Amtrak trains going to Florida but I'm sure all that time in a train would drive one bonkers.

Give it time. It will likely stay like that until you arrive at the airport as the people who will be effected haven't been reaccomidated yet.

That must be frustrating for you to have to deal with or is this something you've grown use to over time?

One of the things about teaching online is that it takes so much more time to grade an assignment submitted late than one submitted on time. In fact, I rarely begin grading assignments due on Monday until Wednesday due to that conundrum.
