is this Olton or ssullivan with bathroom woes?!

Ugh, thanks for reminding me I still need to trek up to some way-out suburb of Atlanta where there's a plumbing supply place that supposedly can get anything in the world to see about getting replacement valve cartridges for our tub and the guest bathroom shower.

I've not had a problem at any recent build airport hotels(5 or so years), they are much better insulated and prepared than the airport hotels of old.

Not like the Marriott IAH or so I hear, never stayed there, never cared to :D

I should have done that but the one time I actually did it I was staying at the Hilton SEA. Upon check-in the guy said let me give you a better room, this is the worst room in the hotel. It was right next to the elevator and half the size of the typical rooms. Because of this, I have always just waited to check in fearing that the next person wont be so nice to tell me the room sucks. It would be really helpful if they showed you a layout of the hotel (ie. exit map they have on the backs of the doors) so you can see what the rooms are like. I think they might do this at ES or at least the one in Lubbock.

The only hotels I've seen that show the layout of the property are Homewood Suites. I know the ES Lubbock doesn't, as I've done online check in there about 10 times in the last year and I was never given a map. But it always happens at the Homewoods.

Just out of curiousity, what's your MyWay preference for the Diamond amenity at full service Hiltons? That does affect your ability to get room upgrades.

Thanks! I'll PM you if this place can't get it. The builder who did the loft conversion here used some cheap no-name Chinese made wall valves for the two showers and the tub. If you don't use it all the time, the hot water side of the valve freezes, and all you can get is cold water. Our master bath shower is fine because it gets daily use. The guest bath shower and the tub in the master bath are problems, probably because they've never been used by us, or by the previous owner, who was single. We'd really love to get it fixed, but this part has proven d@mn near impossible to find.

The aloft PDX was pretty bad. I had stayed at the one near PHL and didn't hear anything but the one in PDX was terrible. Not only could you hear every jet very clearly but the entire building would shake.

UA only wants to sell ATL-IAH on US via CLT.

Looks like I can force connections via IAD or ORD (IAD is preferred due to more miles) using multi-city routing though, and still get prices that are reasonable. Now to just avoid the watchful eyes of the corporate travel agent who says "There's a nonstop availble…"
