I haven't had a bad UA crew yet this year. In face, they've all been quite good, if not outstanding.

The bad ones are out there though, and I've seen them plenty of times in the past. But the last bad crew member I encountered on a UA flight was around May 2008.

The flight crews have to be NW, but I think the FA's can be DL.

I haven't either. Then again, I haven't flown UA or US this year (so much for that status).

I have flown several all-DL itineraries this year, as well as several combined DL/NW/CO itineraries (including one complex, international reward itinerary with DL, KE, and NW segments) and, fortunately, have not had that issue. I have a few more DL flights planned this year, but, other than the occassional work trip that requires DL, I probably will probably stop flying them altogether after my NW Plat status expires next March. Depending on my schedule, I may end up retaining Silver for 2010, but I am not going to go out of my way to do so.

I'm seated next to an open-mouth-chewer who is happily smacking his way through hummus and olives at the filled-to-capacity ATL Concourse B SkyClub. :rolleyes:

I have flown DL several times in the past year and fortunately did not have advance seating issues, though I did need to make fairly stern requests to their 1-800 customer support team as they tried to blow me off.

I never have been one to generalize passengers based on the airlines they fly, but on my recent DL domestic flights, I have observed similar questionable behavior. On a recent SFO-ATL flight in F, the guy next to me put his bare feet up on the bulkhead before the door was even closed, and kept them there until he fell asleep. That same individual reclined his seat all the way before the door was closed, put his iPod headphones on, and either fell asleep or pretended to fall asleep during taxi. It wasn't until we were well into the taxi that an FA made him put his seat up and turn off his iPod. Then, literally, as soon as the nose gear lifted off the ground, he reclined his seat all the way back and put the iPod back on.

On the connecting flight, I was seated in F next to a gruff-looking 280-ish pound man in his late 50's or thereabouts. The flight departed ATL at 8:00 am on a weekday, and the guy drank four doubles of Jack on the rocks before we arrived at BWI; one before takeoff and three during the flight. He clearly was going to some business meeting after the flight and was not on vacation. I found this somewhat amusing until the guy shoved me on his way out of the seat pair (I was in the aisle waiting for the door to open; he was in the window). This was an actual, full-force shove, too; not just a semi-innocent brush-by that occurs from time to time in the confines of an aircraft. Needless to say, I had a "conversation" with the individual about his lack of manners after we both exited the jetway.

Good for you! Like my Mom always says, people need to be told that they are a'holes!

And I have grown tired of this type of behavior as it is happening on almost every flight, albeit to lesser degree. What ever happening to orderly boarding and disembarkation? There is no need to push, jump over 3 rows to grab your bag, or smack me in the head in your haste to get off of the plane. We all have places to be and you really are not saving a heck of a lot of time in the big picture of things.

Especially after I throw a shoulder in to you for being a d'bag!
