At least the 739ER would enplane / deplane more quickly than the 752.

That's all I got.

That's a stretch. A 752 you could enplane/deplane with two doors. Don't have that option with a 739ER.

Also, one has to wonder about cargo. My understanding was there was a decent amount of cargo on the HNL route. I can't imagine making money just on passengers given how much capacity is there.

That sounds like a good start to me. :)

Love the ride, love the look, but for pure chic looks, I'm an A340 guy.

I think 752s are 2nd on my list just behind the 738s by about 16 flights(188 on the 738s and 172 on the 752). I was really sad when they killed the 757 program as I always thought that was one of the best planes out there.

752 and 762 were too similar and Boeing didn't do enough to create different markets for each airframe.

And if the flight is oversold and you fall below a certain height/weight metric, then can give you half the VDB compensation and put you in the overhead.

Even if I weighed less than 72 kgs, I would gain (temporarily) a lot of weight from the alcohol needed to get me into the overhead.

The operative term is "could". With DL (almost always L2 only) and NW (almost always L1 only), it takes forever to get the dang AC loaded.

Once they get the new BF seats, they will be the best a/c in the CO fleet, IMO. Available to most of the second-tier European cities that I'm most interested in visiting, with less of a hassle getting through customs & immigration (due to less people on the plane and those airports simply having fewer arriving international passengers).

If CO had a Mainland-GUM flight, I've always wondered whether it might be worth their while to hit cities in Asia/Pacific from GUM with 752s that 738s just can't reach. I guess the 787 essentially renders that point moot, as it should make economical linking up a lot of Asian cities to CO hubs.

At Hampton 99% of the time my breakfast consists of coffee, yogurt, maybe cereal, and fruit. Not a fan of most of the hot stuff they put out; it's all delivered frozen and just heated up, and it usually tastes like it. However, it's what I expect out of all the brands in that market segment (Fairfield, Holiday Inn Express, etc.).

As for the rooms, many Hamptons are offering rooms these days that are competitive with full-service hotels in appearance. Book a room at a Hampton Inn or Hampton Inn and Suites built since around 2006/2007 and you'll find a nice HDTV, granite counters in the bathroom, nice large desks with comfortable chairs, plenty of well located outlets, and in the newest locations, a nice large walk-in shower with glass door. I really appreciate those features, especially when I'm staying in a room that's nicer overall that what I get at many full-service properties. But there are some areas where Hampton shows its colors as a more budget-priced chain — beds are outstanding for the market segment, but the sheets are a lower thread count and sometimes a little scratchy, towels are smallish, only disposable cups for water and coffee, etc. But overall, Hampton is still my favorite brand for that type of property, and in many small markets, it's the nicest place in town.

You mean the general suckiness of the Gold Points program and the other chains that are part of the Radisson family wasn't enough?

IMO, the L1011 is the most boss looking aircraft out there. In terms of aircraft still in commercial service today, I'll stick with the 752.

Something in me just can't love an Airbus... :)

Again, I agree 100%. Although, right now, I prefer the larger a/c for TATLs as the 752 still feels like too much of a domestic route up front. You do raise a good point re: immigration lines.

Mmmm - that would make for many interesting FM lines!

I have not had scratchy sheets, nor a glass door. the one hot item that is absolutely outstanding on the breakfast menu (if it's still around) are the egg pizza-like quiche-y looking kinda things. I had them once, in ATL. Haven't seen them since. Totally agree re: small towels.

I prefer the Q-400, except for when Doogie Howser forgets to go fast enough.

I love the 757s, and always have. Even the 753 is great, and still gets up in the air and climbs very quickly, even with the extra length on the back end.
