I was actually doing some work this afternoon and then bothered to write it up more on my blog so you scooped me here. I would imagine the PM I got was very similar. ;)

Well he's in your alliance, you should have some say how he messes up your revenue.

You got more tech info than I did.

Sure, if I could find him...when was the last time he was in The Box?

You don't. What you can do is call reservations and ask to be transfered. Or in this case, perhaps this man asked the HNL UA agent to call HNL CO. We all have the local airline phone numbers but we will not give them out.

Wow he's got a lot of planes on order too.

If you are in a closed alliance the members have some say. But in an open alliance the only benefit is you hope you can make more money from gaining access to their hubs then you'll lose from them gaining access to yours.

I'm the evil airline that just won't go away... And just think of all the flexible options that the customers flying on Star Luftwaffe are now getting! :D

At least I don't flood markets with excess capacity or do the €1 sales, like some ahem... other airlines ;)

I don't see it. Even with more economical operations CO would need a stop along the way to deal with feed/loads to get to most of the lesser Asian destinations. The 787-900 might have the range, but I don't think CO could drive the loads for too many non-stops.

I'm going with CO selling off the NRT ops. They don't seem like the foreign hub types.

No chance in hell. GUM is just in a bad location for convenient mainland-GUM-elsewhere routings. Otherwise they'd leverage it way more. CO isn't afraid of a foreign hub, and when the see the positive cash flow dollar signs that come with the UA NRT ops they'd be all over that.

Yeah...I asked for a clarification on just how public the info was and got some additional details at that point. ;) I've been fed information similar to that before that ended up being not for public consumption so I like to double-check now when I get it.

If you are in my markets, that is the risk you take.

Now that you mention that, I see a lot more route overlap in your future.

Hey Box!!

Missed y'all for the past 1.5 weeks or so, but I've been pretty swamped on this latest run, with barely enough time to keep up w/AM. I did try catching up on the Box twice, but gave up when the last page was moving further away than I could read the posts... But I did miss the lot of you miscreants and the daily poop allotment.

Right now more than half-way through a 2-week (mostly) S.American romp...

BOS-MEM-LIT-ATL-MCO-PTY-SCL-PTY-BOG so far, with a BOG-MDE (Medellin) day trip tomorrow, followed by a BOG-IAH-FLL-CLE-BOS run home on Sat.

At least I'm getting some good new FM lines and airlines. :) C:rolleyes:pa last week, and Avianca tomorrow.
