Ah, forget it. It's going to take too damn long to lower all my fares.

Meh. Gotta give you that point. I'll message you in the AM system if I need you to tweak some stuff. You're flying to lots of spots out of my fortress hub that I just hadn't gotten around to yet.

No chance in hell. GUM is just in a bad location for convenient mainland-GUM-elsewhere routings. Otherwise they'd leverage it way more. CO isn't afraid of a foreign hub, and when the see the positive cash flow dollar signs that come with the UA NRT ops they'd be all over that.

Yeah...I asked for a clarification on just how public the info was and got some additional details at that point. ;) I've been fed information similar to that before that ended up being not for public consumption so I like to double-check now when I get it.

I did consider that last part, but then it hit me that it came from a reliable source and a ;) was included - that to me implied safety in dissemination.

Enjoying DEN up till now. On I-25 the windshield of my rental was hit w/ something large. There is a big crack and a little bit of the windshield shattered and came into the car. We're okay. The car isn't. I turned down all the optional insurance, but paid for the rental w/ my CO MC World. I want to turn the car in tonight and get something else. It is a hazard driving like this. Options? Opinions? Advice? Thanks.

Why do you like the 345 but not the 346?

Yikes! Glad that y'all are OK. I'd call the 800 number on the rental agreement and report it and tell them that you're bringing it in. I have no idea about the insurance parts, but you definitely need a different car to drive around in. After you've arranged the replacement car you can deal with calling the number on the CC and asking them just how hosed you are.

While ready the news on Yahoo, I actually saw some adorable otters. These ones might even legitimately puke in canals.

I think only because of the flights I have been on the 345 were all close to
18 hrs , compared to my one 346 flight on a sub 6 hour JFK-LHR
I know the A345 is a fuel guzzler, but the range is amazing . I have not been on the 77L so I would imagine that would be cool too just for the long range.

Wow! Thank goodness everyone is OK. Scary how those things happen. Also reminds all of us that things can happen w/rental cars.

Am going to be renting a car in DEN for Mem Day w/end -- will make sure I put it on the AMEX Plat for the extra insurance.

Good luck w/sorting it all out.

My "adopted mom" (the academic one) was OpUp'ed twice on her recent free trip to Europe with EF Tours (her first time in the premium cabin). When you're on a consolidator fare and get upgrades on both TATL segments, one's living a charmed life.

I have a similar situation at my work - the rumor of the day and speculation gets  fast and takes on a life of its own.

Sorry to hear. Definitely sounds like a hazard and you should return the car. The credit card coverage is usually supplemental to your personal coverage. Someone in the rental car forums would probably be able to provide more detail and a general time-frame where that car would be unavailable. I would also take photos to document that the only problem is the windshield before returning.

Thanks for the advice. We're dealing w/ Avis. I hope they're good to deal with in incidents like this. I had an issue where someone in Israel hit me w/ an Avis rented car, and I never had any issues with them. I will give them a call and see if I can drop off the rental to an Avis nearby instead of at the airport. I am about 25 miles away from the airport.
