In the early days of the FF programs, it was routine to get the miles on award tickets. It was also easy to give your FF number to a relative with the same last name so you would get the credit. Once when my brother and his wife went to Asia we racked up a huge amount of miles without flying.

[rant] I hate this line. "PLEASE INCLUDE SALARY REQUIREMENTS." How much does a Director, Capital Project Management get paid at NJT? I know what it should be in the private sector but it's sort-of State Gov't and they get paid less. Be like the feds, post salary ranges with grades[/rant] |
In case anyone cares, there is a KUL-YYZ Biz fare on DL that will go away. It's one way, I just booked it for $695 and got KUL-ICN(KE)-ATL(DL)-JFK(DL)-YYZ(DL).
The ICN-ATL is on a 77L so it has the new BizElite seat. I just scheduled one for one in August. |
Went planespotting at LAX this afternoon. Here are some highlights:
http://rkkwan.zenfolio.com/img/v7/p586128194-4.jpg The 343 definitely uses more runway than any other plane type to get off the ground: http://rkkwan.zenfolio.com/img/v8/p803987555-4.jpg VQ-BMS, one of Las Vegas Sand's two 747SPs. Taking off to who knows where - it tells flightaware.com not to track it. SPs are a rare sight these days: http://rkkwan.zenfolio.com/img/v7/p838128508-4.jpg And check this out. Three 738s and one 752 at the CO hanger in early evening. Most of them should operate red-eyes out later: http://rkkwan.zenfolio.com/img/v8/p909585741-3.jpg |

Right now my back yard is tired, sad and pathetic looking. Just a mess. Some day I will do somthing with it..... |

I drove about 250 miles on Route 66 today and it was quite the experience. The ghost towns full of abandoned buildings stuck in a time decades ago were quite fascinating!
Unfortunately, I did not get many pictures as it was difficult to tell if people were living in some of these structures. While they certainly did not look inhabitable, there were still signs of life here and there. The last thing I wanted was some drunk guy with a shot gun running after me for trying to take a picture of his "house". :) It's a shame though, I saw a lot of nice shots. |
