In NJ, I have seen municipal cops' salaries printed in the local papers. But NJ is such a corruption pit...ehh, not gonna go down that road. Not worth the keystrokes.

I really truly don't comprehend how hard it must be for some people to follow the rules. Yet these same people will deny that the rules apply to them and deny that they come off as smelling better than the populace.

On another note, after I did my John Sterling impression w/r/t your succinctness in the GCM thread, I realized that I forgot a key component: Yankee home run calls are inevitably made to be about the announcer because of the stupid stuff that he adds at the end: "an A-Bomb from A-Rod", etc. I added in the Wizard of Fozz reference but later realized that it should have read something like "The Wizard of Fozz has sent the OP's argument back to Kansas!" just so the joke stayed in true (yeggh) Yankee broadcasting style.

I observed a trashcan fire at Terminal B yesterday, outside by the Taxi stand (caused by a CO ramper on break who threw a lit cigarette into the trash). Some guy just nonchalantly walked out of the Taxi stand office and put it out with an extinguisher. I got the impression this has happened more than once.

There was an article in USAToday very recently that compared government salaries and benefits to the private sector recently - benefits are truly a huge number for the average public employee, of which I'm one. My overall benefit package was probably around $35,000 last year (not kidding).
