Good morning everyone!! :)

Well, I did it. Booked my first ever MR. It's LGA-IAH-SJC-IAH-LGA next month (5/23 same day turnaround); a little bit more than it would have cost to go on 5/2 with the xyzzy crew, but still not bad at all.

Of course, when this year started I was all excited because I thought I was going to make Silver for the first time in my life...and now I've got a PHL-IAH-FRA-EWR-PHL up on the CO website that would put me at Gold by 6/1...and am thisclose to clicking "purchase"...

I have problems. :-p

I thought I had Silver nearly in the bag for the first time this year, then the no job thing happened.

Only problem I read about is the fact that it is on reserve and not bought. (Coming to the MR Junkie House and trying not to get a MR isn't going to happen! :D :D :D)

Morning everyone! The week looks nice here. Sunny all week and then onto the Freddies in sunny Florida hopefully!

Yeah...I'm probably going to do it. Provided that someone who knows what they're doing can assure me that:

a. 2 hrs in FRA is enough turnaround time on a Sunday morning

b. 1 hr 40 mins in EWR is enough to clear customs and connect (I *could* book the itinerary with a 7 hr layover in EWR, but that would just be a tad , especially considering I live less than an hour from the place, you know?

Is there a website where you can check previous years' salaries (sunshine / open records provision)? My salary for the past few years is posted online ...

Did you use all your vouchers already?

Only had one - it subsidized the Do and part of SEA.

VQ-BMS, one of Las Vegas Sand's two 747SPs. Taking off to who knows where - it tells flightaware.com not to track it. SPs are a rare sight these days:

What does the LAS Sands use these flights for???

And check this out. Three 738s and one 752 at the CO hanger in early evening. Most of them should operate red-eyes out later:

Would CO save any money by having these parked at the maintenance hanger vs. the area near gates? As if there is any area near the CO gates to park 3 extra birds??

How many miles will you be short?

Not sure yet - it might be a situation where if I get a job I can do a run more toward the end of the year.

And re: Las Vegas Sands - they used to have L1011's fly heavy-action Asian gamblers in from Macau before Macau got built up. Not sure where the 74SP fits in - can the SP variant even fly TPAC?

The 343 definitely uses more runway than any other plane type to get off the ground:

Absolutely. The SP was designed as a shortened, long-range version of the original 747 series. It was designed to do long-hauls that the 747-100/200 series just couldn't reach. It was the 777-200 LR of its day.
