Broad St? You mean Newark Penn Station which is by the rock?

You would think that a Jersey guy would know that the Broad Street station is on another train line completely. But he does have an excuse and that is where he lives is only nominally Jersey but really suburban Philly. I lived there for ten years and I know.

And that is precisely why the economy is in such bad shape. We need to get baglady back into spending mode Then nobody will need TARP and TALF and all the other acronymic plans that won't do nearly as much good as a "baglady stimulus plan."

DL runs a lot of them to Florida from ATL and out to the West Coast.

IIRC, DL flies more of them than any other company, and that was before the merger with NW which has a substantial number of them to be added to the DL fleet.

Unfortunately I was doing a long haul today from Dallas to Atlanta. At least tomorrow is a quick jaunt up to RDU.

I'm glad to see y'all made it. Good job!

What if it's not a day and only six hours? What if you don't leave the airport? Is it a crime then?

The last time I did UA in coach was '97 on a ORD-FRA flight. Thank god for SWUs. And, no they aren't listening, do they ever?

Further UA nonsense:

Meant to post this earlier -- one of my SYD-SFO flights got in late and I missconnected to my HNL leg. Went to the RCC to ask for a $7 food voucher (wanted a cup of soup) and they said no but urged me to call the 1k desk.

Call the 1k desk, told me I needed to do it at the airport but as a goodwill gesture they sent me a $350 ecert.

A $350 voucher and all I wanted was $7 for a cup of soup.

Not sure if I should hate or love UA.

How can you not love them? Man, i'll have to try something like that. And did you get your $7 soup voucher? :D

That's because you're not a 1k. :) Being a 1K actually feels special at UA unlike being a Plat at CO.

That doesn't seem fair to say. From what I see it looks like CO listens a lot, just that this answer is no. I'll blame that comment on the long drive. :p

What? You couldn't sneak the golf cart aboard? :)

Shocking.

Makes those SYD runs a bit more valuable now, I suppose.

Have you decided on doing one? If so, when? I'm really toying with it now with the DEQM promo.

I'm sure they'll do to Sun what they did to Lotus.

As a former Sun employee, it can't be worse than what Schwartz has done to the company. The reality, Sun has two things IBM wants, Java and Solaris. The amount of money Sun makes on licensing Java alone is worth a ton and Solaris would give them a firm foothold in the datacenter.

Apparently Africa is universally hated by flight crews to the point where delta has to offer hazzard pay.

I can't imagine why. I'm sure CO's crews are happy they never started the Lagos service.

They say no, but i don't think they ever truly listen to the request. CO tends to have very selective hearing on some things (E+, SWU, etc). They nod and say no but I don't think they truly get it. It's become evident, from what they've done with Plat and Gold tiers, that they really have no interest in long term loyalty of a customer and have more of a "what have you done for me lately" philosophy.

If the concept doesn't fit into their current view of reality, it can't happen and won't happen. In the end, they really learn to be a bit more nimble.

cheepnezy sorry about your loss.

shell nyc sounds like you had a fun day. My friend got diverted to DFW in yesterday's IAH mess.

I'm going crazy, i haven't been on a plane in almost two weeks and my first flight is either going to be a Q2 or Q4. :(

I'm off to bed, nite box.

I had my MRI today. It was a closed MRI and I was only inserted up to my waist. Had the headphones on listening to soothing music but the noise that an MRI makes puts jack hammering to shame. Wow. I would love to know why it makes so much noise and not always the same noise. I see my doctor on Monday for the results. I obviously didn't watch enough medical TV shows to be able to read my MRI.
