That's my concern. It's winter in the Southern Hemisphere in August. So are you referencing "our" winter or theirs?

Our winter is their monsoon season. I think their seasons are rainy/not rainy.

Being that close to the equator means they get a 2-3" a month plus the heavy rains during monsoon.

They said as much...despite my "dead lobby" comment, they were apparently jammed behind the scenes.

You, optimist? Given your taste in humor I figured you for an adherent of -ism.

I couldn't justify EC-3's at the time, but I did see them and very much like them. Second the comment about them working as earplugs.

Oh, it's a big pretty white plane, with wheels, and stripes, and curtains in the window and it looks like a big Tylenol.

CM, I was looking at the world you constructed and was wondering why there are so few airports. Is it because more airports = more tokens?

I'm not sure. I know I didn't pick the most expansive map, and the map selection screen was after the tokens had been debited. I'm a little  myself...hence the apology in advance if anything was really not kosher with the private world, because I'd never done it before.

Post of the day. The guy who excoriated the other guy who wanted a reason to be on the upgrade list is my pick for post of the week, hands down.

Why buy gates w/o the aircraft to use them?

I wonder if I'm making a mistake having 3 routes with each plane 100% on each route instead of shuffling them about, or something.

1. In a more competitive world that's public, you can't buy gates to keep in your back pocket, since if they go disused for 24 hours you get a wanring sent to you that they will be returned to the airport. Holding empty gates is a science, because you would have to time against new aircraft deliveries.

2. No. Their Wiki is a big fan of operating one flight per day to any destination given the logic the game uses. According to that, the premium you get on multi-flights per day to the same destination is sometimes not large enough to justify the additional cost of operating the second flight.

OK, the news: the interview went very well but I'm expecting either 1 or 2 more rounds...apparently the GM and Dir. of Marketing have expressed an interest in meeting the candidates for a spot that has been vacant for 4 months. Not sure if that's a bad sign in these times....they must be that picky, and I somehow made their cut. I had a hard time keeping a straight face in the interview, because the hotel's assistant GM was a dead ringer for Larry Kellner, except about 8 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter. The money and the start at the company probably make the job worth taking despite the drive, but I'm being cautious and not overthinking it.

No worries. I was just going to make my base some obscure airport and when only big airports showed up I just started wondering.

Glad to hear it went well! Maybe they'll bring you in for one more round and you'll start the next day!
