I remember my father getting in an epic battle with the postmaster when our mailbox got knocked over in a storm and he replaced it using the "old" specs. Because it was no longer grandfathered in, the new box didn't meet the current requirements and the post office stopped delivering our mail. Given my inability to do anything right, I'm sure I won't be receiving mail for at least the next year.

here, they sale approved boxes at lowes, home depot, and walyuck. If you live on a road allowing a streetside box they are required to plant the post. I had to call up the post office and they sent someone out the next day and they got a great joy in digging into pure rock, they eventually got it down though.

Worst was when the post got hit by a drunken driver, it took them about a week to fix it but the postwoman kept delivering even with the box upside down :D
We offered to do it but were told it is prohibited.

You can get some from Mexico, but you have to sneak it in, otherwise maybe will need a trip to florida :)

Interesting. I'm going to have to call my father and tell him about this. He'll get great amusement learning about this and will probably take credit for having the USPS enact this program.

It's no wonder USPS is running out of cash! Talk about a poorly run organization...

I need a hobby. All I am doing right now is going around in circles on the airtrain at jfk.

they are run worse than US or UA, no doubt. I went to Europe and looking at the post rates there (a letter cost about 4x here) then going to the post office there you could buy GSM phones, do identity verification for credit cards, notary services, get prepaid debit cards. I liked it!

Maybe a job would help cure that boredom. Really, are you all out of lounges?

So I get ok the redeye sfo-ord. For some reason I get op-uped to ua domestic f.

Last minute the guy comes running on and up to the fa and says that there is a person in his seat. There was in fact an older woman
in his seat. He did not talk to the woman, she turned out to have a center aisle seat.

She asked if he wanted it and he said no. Insted he made her get up and move all her stuff.

Well bing that he was last on board there was no overhead space left. Yet he elects to cram his bag ontop of mine. This really annoys the crap out of me but I say nothing.

When the flight arrives and I open the overhead, the guy watches as his bag falls on me. Thanks to my fencing tuned reflexes I catch it before it hits the ground.

The guy says thanks, like I am doing him a favor. No apology was issued. This was rude to an old woman and almost injured me with his poor timing skills. I should have just let his bag hit the ground.

Another piece of proof that money and class do not go together.

Sure, but it was an event for us, and anything that happened that weekend will be associated with us.

The whole ALPA thing probably didn't help either.
