Cigars for all!

In other news, after about 3 months of :rolleyes:ing, looks like I'm finally ready to close on the house next week. Today was full of deadline created drama that was finally resolved with the seller planting a tree to satisfy a town ordinance. That was the last piece in the puzzle for the town to issue a Cert. of Occupancy and the ball is now in motion to sign my life away.

I know a lot can happen between now and next week, but I'm finally above water on this deal. And I got a tree out of it!

In typical me fashion, I'm set to close on April Fools Day.:o:D

So will you be doing the same level of travel or a TPA paper pusher? :D

I would eat one, if only for the novelty factor. I'm hoping they come out with a 5,000 calorie version. Why they fell just shy of that mark is perplexing.

No retort needed - that line stands on its own.

Ha. Fair enough.

Planting the tree in front of the house was going to be my first bit of landscaping anyway, so the town just saved me $50, a dirty trunk, and grief from the Canuck.

I hope it's a ficus.

I knew the box would appreciate the April 1st closing date.

I am all for planting trees, I prefer Oaks out here in Texas but, for the city to require it to move is just too big brother for me.

I just transfered a loquat and a rubber tree into the ground. Should have loquats soon.

If we can avoid hail this year, perhaps my limes will survive to maturity.

I'm not disagreeing at all.

I'm not sure what exactly the ordinance is, or how it reads. It's new construction so there's absolutely 0 landscaping right now and the property sticks out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood of 60's style high ranches, and mature trees.

I don't think an oak would fit on the property. :o

My first challenge will be putting in a mailbox. I remember my father getting in an epic battle with the postmaster when our mailbox got knocked over in a storm and he replaced it using the "old" specs. Because it was no longer grandfathered in, the new box didn't meet the current requirements and the post office stopped delivering our mail. Given my inability to do anything right, I'm sure I won't be receiving mail for at least the next year.

I'm going to plant a Corona tree. We should talk...

I'm sure the Canuck is going to want a maple tree.:rolleyes::mad:

I need to get my hands on a Key Lime sapling. Regular limes just won't cut it for Mexican bevvies.
