Random thought. Is there such a thing as a fun spring/summer time job that pays ok?

A resort in the Hamptons or other high end trendy resort up that way. Also check for park resorts like Denali in Alaska and others in the lower 48.

UA board is all abuzz about the DEQM promo now being retroactive to previously purchased tix if you sign up for another promo. Appears UA did the additional promo because they were inundated with change requests.

Yes, just make sure your operating income (DOC) can cover the gate rents in a few days or so.

Also, as mentioned earlier, you can go negative to buy gates but not aircraft.

AMF in NJ Mar 25, 2009 12:50 pm

Why buy gates w/o the aircraft to use them?

I wonder if I'm making a mistake having 3 routes with each plane 100% on each route instead of shuffling them about, or something.

Which seems to make for long waits when trying to build up enough cash to buy more aircraft. I should finally have enough money to lease a Dash-8 tomorrow morning.

It's not safe to fly. Your virtual pax will froth at the mouth on their virtual FT when you buy that plane.

I'd qualify that as a pretty good job that paid well. If you don't piss away your earnings.

I knew some bartenders did well but not that well.

You may want to reduce utilization to increase revenue on the route so that when you have enough money to open a new route, it's simple. Then you can take planes that small amounts of hours left and add capacity to your heaviest routes. That's where things get complicated and AM shows its bad side. You can adjust routes but you are unable to see how shuffling planes will work until you've already done it.

I just did a full rework on my public world account and it took me the entire lunch hour.

When drink prices are $$$ and people are on vacation tips tend to flow a bit more generously (even more so when there's no upfront cash outlay and they are charged to their rooms). As a HS student working there (not as a bartender) I made absurd amounts of money.

In other news, anyone in the Box been to SEZ? Specifically in August? Any idea what the weather would be like?

Hot? :p

In all seriousness, it looks like August is the "coolest" month as far as averages go. It hovers around 80 in the day time and 74 at night. Winter is the monsoon season, so you should be good on that front.
