The city itself isn't all that though. It's greatly overrated in my opinion, and most of the people I know who live in Atlanta and absolutely love it and think it's the greatest place on earth really haven't seen much else of the world, or even the US. If it's all you know, I'm sure it's great. But it's like someone telling me that Red Lobster is the best seafood restaurant ever. If I ask them about that, it's usually revealed that their experience of eating seafood is mostly limited to Long John Silver's and Red Lobster. If that's your frame of reference, then sure, it's the greatest thing ever. If you've ventured out and had really great, fresh, local seafood, from a non-chain place, cooked by a chef who really knows what he's doing, then you wouldn't set foot in a Red Lobster. Not everyone in Atlanta is that way, but I know quite a few people who think it's the best place to live on earth, and most of them have barely ventured out of Georgia and its surrounding states.

Passed the physical, but I didn't like the numbers. Time to get off my fat A$$.

That's what I keep telling myself. I knew it wasn't going to be all roses and puppies going into it, but the sheer level of incompetence is staggering.
I had a bad feeling about my lawyer when I met with her to review the contract and she had the names wrong on the contract. Instead of amending it right then and there, when we were in front of her, she decided to put it off. When she faxed the contracts over to the bank they of course kicked them back because they had the wrong names. That accounted for the first one week delay. She seems incapable of reviewing anything, yet sits on every document for a week before passing it along, only to have someone else (usually the bank) find Dunkin' Donuts receipts stapled in place of Schedule A's (true story). It's also not helping things that she returns about one out of every phone calls I leave her. Hang in there. It'll be over soon, and as much as it seems hopeless at the moment, in my experience, things usually turn out OK. Of course, along the way you will have gained a few grey hairs, a lot of heartburn and a big hole in the bank balance, as well as a profundly cynical view of attorneys and realtors. But, in the end, when you are sitting in your new home, sipping a nice cold margarita and grilling some shrimp on the BBQ, you'll be happy you persevered. Good luck! |

I'm listening to audio from CO's earnings call and Larry just mentioned that they regularly meet with UA executives to discuss, among other things, "ultimately move to a single IT platform".
