I knew my spidey sense was tingling. @:-)

Unfortunately it's looking like I'll be in SFO on 7/15 and probably not via HOU. I've been trying to teach the Canuck a new accent. I started teaching her Aussie, but the eh's got in the way of the protracted oooooooooo's.

I'm now lobbying for non-Texan Southern but she's having a mighty difficult time with that too.

At least she doesn't say cawfee.

Bachelor party* weekend starts in t-8 hours. :o

I particularly enjoyed the post there that suggested JFK would be dropped in favor of PHL as a hub in the combind carrier.

I fully agree!

I started doing this, then realized the concrete slab under the shower was in poor shape and it had other issues. It's now at 1 year and still not finished (I was supposed to begin "much reduced travel" beginning last summer, but that's obviously not happened since I've requalified for plat by now & haven't had 2 consecutive weekends at home since about Easter). Luckily the upstairs shower is nice, so I'm not on a time limit yet... but I'm thinking 2 more weekends at home & it'll be done :)

Lines at EWR are insane.

Also, my flight to IAH is oversold but they wouldn't take us bc the wife is on a paid FC ticket and they said they would only put us on CO metal leaving at 5pm tonight. I was cool with it until they said we can give you $200 each.

Lines at RDU were bad this morning too! After I convinced them to route me through CLE or EWR to IAH, the only EWR offering was that 5PM flight... no thanks!

On a related topic: Does anyone else think it's rediculous that the manager at RDU says that you're only allowed to stand-by for flights 2-hrs before your originally scheduled flight? I explained the SDC fee and rules that it can be within 24 hrs of your original flight, etc, but he told me I'm completely wrong. I asked why the computer then offered me the 250PM flight instead of my 6AM flight for $25 and he was confused. He made a "one time exception" to put me on the 625AM CLE flight instead of my 6AM IAH flight. The only good thing was that they forgot to charge me the $25 when they got done with the whole mess... oh, and I get 548 base miles (plus the elite bonuses) out of the deal :)

What a surprise...it is raining again here. Good thing they flew the retrojet in last night or it would probably get stuck with ATC delays inbound.

It was 107 yesterday and is supposed to be warmer today. Rain? What is this rain you speak of? I thought I was moving further away from Arizona when I left California.

Thank you COEX from canceling 2661 MHT-EWR and dumping me on the 4:40 one without even a phone call .

Guess I'll try to get on a BOS-EWR flight so I can get home at a decent hour.

I probably would be interested. I met the man when we went out there in the 70s and he happened to be giving the tour of his winery. He was an interesting and compelling guy who obviously had his entire life invested in making wine. The book can be passed to me the next time the CO flyers get together in NJ and ConciergeMike and I both find it geographically convenient.

I'd like to give it a read after monitor is done. I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the Mondavi Estate last Labor Day weekend.

When I lived in AUS, I managed to find a job that only required about 20 hours a month of actual work, which paid enough so I could survive. By survive, I mean... have enough disposable income to purchase mini-Kegs of Warsteiner and cases of ACE Honey Cider, so I could spend most days drinking heavily aboard a pool-float. It was the only rational way to survive the summers there, IMO.

I seem to have hit 14,000 posts last night without noticing...

That wasn't a good starting point for negotiations.

Good Morning, Box.

Glad to hear interview went well. I may be doing an internal xfer soon. It would be a promotion, but into a non-travel job. With a 1 year old at home, this 75% on the road crap can get old - Skype+webcam is no substitute. Once DEQMs post, I'll have UA 1P through 2011.

Mrs. bdjohns1 picked up a little bit of refined Southern accent during a 2-year stint in MEM. I approved. ^

My wife has informed me that if we ever move anywhere south of I-70, our house will have a pool (or will have one added). Fortunately, my wife doesn't have a thirst for fine German beers.
