This might be one of the worst weeks of the summer for specials.

I still have 18 days until flying again. And I've already researched itineraries to potentially SDC (and earn more miles).

The hot wings at Capital City Brewing Co. were excellent yesterday...can't say I was as thrilled with the accompanying beer, but it was certainly a serviceable pairing choice with hot wings. The bitter finish was the killer, not the taste.

I'm hoping the IAH-BZE fares take a dive, the flights are empty yet revenue management is keeping the prices at $600

Night, Box. Covering Teh Mom's office tomorrow, so apparently I have to get there on time.

Good Morning Box.

While I wasn't stirring up the economy or riding an elephant in DC last night, I was spending my day at my son's soccer tourney. The season has started again. It seems that taking two months off from soccer pratice with a broken collar bone didn't harm my son's ability to play.

First game was interesting and exciting. At half time the other team had already scored 3 goals to our none. My son was put into the game and took the kick off and promptly scored a goal. By the end of the game he had scored a total of 3 goals (love a hat trick) and tied the game 3-3. Yes I was the total idiot on the sidelines cheering.

^^

Uniforms Check it out.

Awww. Sorry you were bored without me.

Good night box. My eyes keep closing. I hope to catch up on the good stuff tomorrow though Plus1 has given me a recap.

They go down $100 immediately after Labor Day but that's still a lot of cash.

I am flying a lot this week, then next week, and the week after...I had a little 2 week lull here. Feels nice to be in the air.

Mackieman Aug 16, 2009 9:43 pm

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Back to the job search in the morning.

When did the Atlanta Braves begin imitating the Baltimore Orioles by playing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" during the 7th inning stretch?

Haven't heard a single word about anything. My wife keeps telling me it isn't over yet, so we'll see.

True....I've done that before but the train I was meeting ConciergeMike on didn't stop at EWR so the agent couldn't make the change. The conductor took the ticket and didn't say a word.

Since I can't cook worth a damn, I'll volunteer to buy whatever ingredients/bevarages I can contribute and will just be the designated eater.

My friends and I are in the planning stages of a "bacon party". Every dish MUST be bacon based (including dessert). Ms. GadFly managed to find chocolate-dipped applewood bacon so I guess that'll be my dish.

Well actually - the fun was just beginning at 8pm. I hooked up with the group at RFD at 7th and H St NW with two more hours of drinking at this Irish Pub. Of course, ALCO was in true fashion. ConciergeMike and SteveGadfly headed over to the train station for the 10pm headed north. The rest all headed over to the roof top at the W Hotel (the old Washingtonian Hotel) - beautiful night and view. Saw the lights go out at the WhiteHouse.

And thanks to Fozz - we got EliteAccess into the W - he was staying there. Huge line around the block - but the flash of those magic black key cards - got us in the side entrance and a quick trip to the roof top deck. Lots of beautiful people and the party continued. I left the group at midnight - with no stopping in sight. Those left included: ALCO, CO 1E, dan1431, SCOTT6067, sbm12, fozz. I will let it go at that - my lips are sealed.

Had a blast with y'all yesterday...can't wait to do it again! I'm sorry I had to bail and get on the 10:00 train but Sunday band practice was dictating my schedule. By the way....in a conversation between ALCO and a homeless dude in front of the white house, the real winners are the spectators :D

Absolutely....and now that CM directed me to the google maps pictures of the course at the old Bangkok airprt, I hope to play there sometime....with Plus 1 as my tour guide of course!

G'night box.
