Talk about pigeonholing yourself. Perhaps he can fall back on his Ph.D. in Sanskrit if that doesn't work out.

I believe he who chairs at EWR and is on reserve. Concerned one is female btw. On a simular note, I spoke to a couple of pilots, all wonderful people and great to talk to and they seem unaware of DO issues that we have seen in some posts.

How did they get on the ramp? CO employee, or pro photag contracted for the event?

He knew a guy who knew a guy as a contractor. I was maybe going to tag along as his employee but it didn't work out; he couldn't get an extra person in.

Sounds like an uncomfortable moment.:rolleyes::p

It was fine. Typical party line stuff, some of which was quite entertaining, and then some smalltalk. He was there very early, just like us, and stared straight at me and said "I know who you are," as we all did introductions. That was strange but things got better after that. I understand his frustration - he's furloughed and benefits are being cut - and I don't mind that they are occasionally directed at me. He did note that my photos were quite good which made me an easy target of the vitriol, so that was nice. It would've been worse if they thoughts the photos were both crappy and damning.

It is me, I have been busy at work and not had time to post to the box, although I am a rare poster as it is.

Thank you.
Dan

38x ORD-ABE (or PHL)-ORD roundtrip
1x ORD-BOS-ORD

Obviously, I made 1P on segments, but that's a dull-... way to do it.

Perhaps a more exciting routing would be on CO: ORD-EWR by bus followed by EWR-ABE by bus. :D

Did they find some way to make that Bus fly?! if a bus is flying, does it mean CO broke down and bought an AIRBUS?

I have a Saab. It has had some really  problems over the last year or so, like stalling and failing to start. The problem was not fixed by replacing the fuel pump, nor was it completely fixed after the second $600 repair. I had to argue with the dealer to get them to fix the real cause after the failed second attempt without charging me another $600. Now the check engine light is on, but nothing seems to be wrong.

I am going through this exact same issue...

You'd think, but he always has cars in the driveway waiting for service.

Probably the sizable chunk of the pilot corps who think that the union is nothing more than a necessary evil.

Given some of the rhetoric and vitriol from their side, I'm honestly surprised that you didn't get straight up cold-shouldered.

"Quite entertaining" as in truthfully entertaining or laughable?

Doesn't charge much less than the dealer though , but a fellow I ran into at work uses him and his Volvo looks 15 years old. I hope to keep mine kicking for quite awhile unless it needs a $2k fix every 6 months (no, did not have one 6 months ago, just saying).

My dealer was always very reliable until that last series of expensive, failed repairs. I now use an independent shop that works only on Swedish cars.

He crawled into a pigeonhole that no one else was in. Good for him. ^

Aloha box.

I'm out for the weekend. Someone please have 5 litres of water, a box of joe, and a case of Tylenol available for me on Monday a.m.

Thanks everyone for the ^'s on the job situation.

Have a great weekend. I know I will. :D Unless you're the Canuck, in which case I will be knitting and reading to blind, deaf, Amish children all weekend and not an ounce of fun will be had. It's pathetic actually.

It's more difficult to get an appointment at the independent Swedish shop than it is to get one at the Saab dealer nearest my car's domicile.

COFlyerCLE Jun 26, 2009 1:26 pm

My friend who works on the CO ramp at CLE took some pics of the retro for me and posted them on FB. He tagged the plane as me... I guess that is the impression I've made on my friends. :)

Looks good though! Wish I had been there, but I'm delayed in DFW, so me and Mr. Jim Beam are waiting out the delay together.

If that's not a vote of confidence against Saab dealers...and dealers and their  pricing in general.

Well there ya go. Looks like my rash of stays at Marriott properties during the move got me upgraded to MR Platinum somehow. Winner winner extra points for dinner.
