When we found this neighborhood and house (our house number is 747) we laughted because it seemed so appropriate for an airline employee to live here.

I was a member of the 177th Fighter Wing. My mother almost bought another condo that was #177, she looked at #177 in this development, and in the end she settled on #119, and the pilot component of the 177th Fighter Wing is the 119th Fighter Squadron. Would have been freaky were I a pilot.

I'd strongly disagree with the latter clause. Lots of schools have implemented hiring freezes, and generally the only positions that are available are in the areas of science, math, and foreign language (whether stand-alone or as bilingual classes).

See this Houston Chronicle blog posting and this Houston Chronicle article on the teaching job market (noting, for example, that Humble ISD received around "about 50 applicants for each middle and high school teaching positions, while elementary positions are attracting double that.")

Probably. He thought that was too cool.

My apologies.

I had a friend who went to GIG for Carnaval and had a blast.

Of course there's the time I ended up in CGN changing trains in the middle of Carnaval. Who knew that CGN is one of the big spots for Carnaval in Europe.

MackieMan sorry to hear about the job. I hope your boss pulls through.

UA just put up a $240 IAH-HNL fare. Where will CO retaliate from, and can I get there cheaply?

Worthless news of the day: Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are no mas.

Teachers without degrees in their fields and/or with just alternative certification stand a much better chance of getting a job than those who went to school for their subject. Those with alternative certification can be paid less and are more attractive to school districts for that simple reason.

There also seems to be an upswing in coaches teaching upper level high school classes.

ie, can a companion be added to both AUS-IAH and IAH-BOS by an agent at AUS?

Yes they can.

My vote is for IAD-HNL.

I wonder why UA is going after CO. Shouldn't they be focusing their efforts on the World's Premier Airline

I could be convinced to jump on a cheap EWR-HNL fare on UA.

There's no fare expiration on the UA one. I wonder if they goofed like last time when it was only supposed to be for x days but they set it up as EOS.

Apparently the fare is avail IAH/DFW/SLC/MSP.

With WN starting MSP service, PHL-MSP may be a good positioning option.
