Good Day Box:

The fact that I know "Whoa" relates to "Blossom" is either a testament to or the ultimate conviction of my childhood. Given we're in the Box, you can draw your own conclusions!:D

In other equally interesting news, :p did any of you catch the new NW-DL targeted promo (more on that later)? Fly up to 10 round trips of any length and any paid, published fare and get 10,000 bonus miles per flight up to 100,000.

Only reason I bring this up is that it looks like its targeted at elites that have not flown DL-NW in the same amount as the past and have flown some CO (such as myself and my wife an SE). Name of the promo at NW is "CO Campaign 10000 Bonus Mile". Gotta' wonder why NW-DL would do a promo like this at this time point huh?;):D

Anyway, it is good stuff and I have my first 2 hour total trip from CLT-ATL for under a $100 coming up before I go into work. Indeed, the good stuff!

Oh yeah, I did a quick check, if this was already discussed in the Box, I apologize, quick search did not so suggest.

Safe Travels

Not discussed that I know of...sounds good for a few people that frequent the Box.

I bought a severely discounted pair of those golf ball finder wraparound sunglasses - anyone ever use and if so, any thoughts?

Yeah, they would certainly add to anyone's David Duval impression.

Finally a sunny day in NYC. Truly a sunny day, not a teaser with off and on clouds and eventual rain. It was really, really nice out today.

The newest park in town - The High Line - was packed but there is a nice park right underneath it at 14th street that has been there forever, and has the advantage of rarely being crowded. The bees were out having a grand old time.

I didn't qualify for either the 5 / 5,000 or 10 / 10,000 versions :td:

I, on the other hand, got totally drenched up in Lake Placid. It was supposed to clear around noon and I was hoping for some nice puffy clouds. But nooooooooooo. 15 minutes before hitting our destination the skies opened up. Looked like a drowned rat, felt like one too. Got too wet to even contemplate a walk through the village afterwards.:(

Great shots.

Always wanted to go to Lake Placid and attempt bobsledding.

That is a bummer! Yeah, still some mystery as to what criteria were used for eligibility. I got the e-mail was eligible, my wife did not get the e-mail although could register, my mom who is an SE on NW-DL did not get the e-mail was not eligible for either promotion. Seems very random no?

One thing is likely though, I would wager that we're looking down the barrel of an award redemption rate increase here. To wit, in the grand tradition of the Box, I say .

+1 The bobsled rides were open today, though I imagine it's not quite the same as being on the ice track. I'd like to try the skeleton too.

Did AM ban my IP for making too many new routes in 5 minutes? :D

Actually I think they are making code changes on the site, I saw an announcement about no more admin cash to airlines ability starting the 28th, in the EU that would be close to now. Getting an errordocument not found error now, classic plesk problem....

Sucks on the deactivated satellite radio. Nice car other than that though. And, if you have a smart phone or other device that you can play, or stream, music on, you can easily connect it to the stereo in that car. You can even do it wirelessly over Bluetooth, provided you dig out the Sync manual in the trunk's spare tire wheel well to figure out how to do it. It works well, but the first version of Sync that's in the Taurus isn't the most intuitive thing ever (later versions are much easier).

On my LA work trip in April I hooked up my BlackBerry to Sync and drove all over that city for a week using the Slacker radio on my BlackBerry and Sync in the car. ^
