I like spontaneous myself. Being unemployeed has allowed me to be much more so by saying yes to things I've normally would have to say no to such as the retrojet thing yesterday. But in addition I also like to have something planed in advance so I have something to look forward too.

Too much freaking MJ! Agree on Farrah Fawcett. We flew with her and she was so wonderful to the CO employees - she went up imho.

I want to thank the people who broke the story in the first place, TMZ, to have had a normal show yesterday. It was the only non MJ show on the air.

How would you handle this train ticket situation?

In Denmark there are single ride, 10 ride and day-ticket options. I have two specific trips planned next week that would be round-trip for the most zones they have. Those tickets are DKK95 each one way. I can buy a 10-trip for DKK405 and also use that for other trips within Copenhagen, including the to/from airport, ferry, etc. Or I can buy the 72-hour card for DKK450, which is unlimited use and also has discounts for other stuff in Copenhagen. I think that it is clearly a question of the 405 versus the 450 pass but I'm not sure if it is worth investing the extra 45 Kronor (~$8) for unlimited use. Oh, and I'll be in town for just about exactly 72 hours so that actually is the right amount of time.

Thoughts?

Never mind...the benefits of the 72-hour card are insanely good. Since we're going to be using the train for day trips anyways it is a no-brainer. The other things we'd consider doing, like Tivoli gardens, are expensive enough that we'll make back the investment in no time. Hard to believe that the $85 pass is a good deal, but it is.

You answered it yourself, IMO. The 450 pass is that much better of a deal if any of the included discounts apply to you.

My thoughts are if you think you won't exceed 10 trips then go for the cheaper one.

Are any of the discounts on the unlimited enough to justify the extra 45 Kronor and are they discounts you would use?

Buenos . National gave me a new Taurus Limited ^...with inoperable Sirius/XM :td:. I got to listen to every crazy on late-night AM radio last night.

Why are you going? Work or pleasure? I loved CPH - 72 hours is actually perfect for a visit.

I remember buying the unlimited card and regretting it. I got a discount at exactly *one* place I visited and other than the airport trips, I mostly walked places. The other train trip I took (over to Malmo) wasn't included with the pass so it didn't matter.

Editing - if you want to save a buck or two, eat the street hot dogs - no, they are NOTHING like the NYC version. :D Surprisingly, they are very good.

This is a leisure trip. The first 72 hours are in CPH, then a ferry to OSL, flights to Aelsund, 5 nights kayaking on the fjords and then a night in Trondheim before returning home.

I was initially very skeptical of the 10-trip because you have to buy for the maximum number of zones you'll use and a shorter trip still uses the full value of the ticket for that "trip." Since I would need the 9-zone (max) ticket it seemed that things like the train from the airport would be wasting money in a sense. On further review, however, the unlimited card includes a number of free admissions that we probably would have either skipped (Tivoli Gardens @ DKK125/person) or that we would need to pay anyways (Viking ship museum @ DKK25/person). The real selling point, however, is that the ticket includes the unlimited rides on the transit, including the longer runs that we're going to be taking anyways. I think that we might be able to buy a single 10-trip (@DKK405) and share it for the 8 segments we need for two r/t day trips but I'm not 100% certain on that. If we can share it then it might make sense to go that way instead. Otherwise the longer train rides effectively make the 72-hour card pay for itself.

+1 on Craigslist, and I would list the free weights and treadmill separately (to avoid eliminating some potential customers).

Sounds like a fabulous trip! ^

Weather forcast for the SFO Bay area: Hot. 70's at the coast and 100 inland. They promise that it will cool off at night but we are looking at two days of this hot weather pattern and no one has A/C except people who live inland.
