Are we ever going to get the quotes on the overwater, non-charter portion of the journey?

They were talking something like $672 a few days ago. I'd suspect that whole part of the plan is now dead w/o the LH charter.

I am sure that there will be sub-$500 fares available through regular channels at that time.

The TATL numbers were announced and are separate from the charter part of the event. And while you could potentially get the $500 fare you don't get in to the FT seat block, the party at EWR, the ride to JFK or the potential party at JFK. At the Y price-point the charter might not be compelling. For J it is much more so.

I read that thread earlier. Other than the GA making a stupid announcement and implementing their rules incorrectly everything was done right. It was not an IDB scenario, regardless of what people want to think. The fact that someone there quoted the old IDB rules was particularly .

Why don't they charter a 757 from openSkies?

I don't think we can get miles from Openskies, I think they need to charter from someone without any ties to any major airline, hence TUI or CORSAIR, or whatever they are looking at.
and oh yeah
