That bone is there for a reason, and those two pieces of meat should be separated and prepared in a way that befits the filet and the strip individually, as they are wildly differnt cuts of beef when on their own. By cutting and prepping it in that way, IMO both sides get ruined. I didn't order that tonight; I just felt like complaining about it.

Only if you are a well-done steak man, that is true. If you eat your beef cool center, porterhouse works very well. Once you have a hot center, IMO almost no beef is worth eating.

I personally love a tbone(porterhouse in the north, and east) cooked right AND cut right, it is one of the best steaks out there. The best simply need salt, pepper and a quick sear anything more ruins it. I like my steak rare, not blue, but RARE.

Nice to meet you Hartmann. I met baglady, sans Plus1. But, she was w/ her father. It was nice meeting you two. Thanks for your help in dealing w/ baby photog72. Thanks to Hartmann for helping out with the little one as well. And, it was nice meeting sdm1130 and soon to be Mrs. sdm1130, and his father. I hope you had a good trip to DSM. I had a great time today. Yeah, it was 102 for the high, but we were indoors for all of it.

As for CO day on July 15, what's going to happen at IAH? For now, I am free that day. I hope I am not. I hope I have a job by then.

If your job interferes with the "meet" just send baby Photog72 instead!

Bath/Spa:rolleyes: Spas in the master bath are the biggest waste of money since very, very, very few people use them.

BL JR uses ours almost every day. I don't recall the last time I did.

People don't think I am that organized, but I like to plan things 5-6 months out.....

Have you heard of the word spontaneous???? I plan everything 5-6 days in advance when I'm luck.

Unfortunately it's looking like I'll be in SFO on 7/15 and probably not via HOU. I've been trying to teach the Canuck a new accent. I started teaching her Aussie, but the eh's got in the way of the protracted oooooooooo's.

I'm now lobbying for non-Texan Southern but she's having a mighty difficult time with that too.

At least she doesn't say cawfee.

Morning Box. Interview went well this a.m. New (internal) job should be in place by end of Fiscal Year. ^

Of course the locel news agencies are going gah-gah over it. More  I am sick and tired of the news about MJ, the pedophile.

I find it very sad that the death of Farrah Fawcett has essentially been ignored. She fought her cancer w/ courage and out in the open. While I understand the OTT (over-the-top) coverage on MJ, it is just TOO much.

Too much freaking MJ! Agree on Farrah Fawcett. We flew with her and she was so wonderful to the CO employees - she went up imho.

yes, work is spontaneous enough for my likings, having to wake at 6am for an emergency trip, plenty for me ;)
Really, I don't plan out THAT much, but for an event like this that I want to take it all in, I do like to have a plan. I don't like crowds too much either, so if I plan it out right I can get a hotel for next year booking early, and a car arranged; then I can actually enjoy it. I want to take it like a vacation where I can leave work behind, if I take it this year I'll be on call, and won't be able to enjoy. While I am boss, I have corporate responsibilities as well that I must fulfill. We are using the economic troubles of the world now to launch a lot of growth, so I have to be on the ball.

About the too old thing, I figured I'd get a reaction from someone. I don't have a clue how old she is, but she has a very pretty face, and teeth, unlike me.

The sadder part is Farrah and family are Houstonians. You would think that the city would morn the loss of their our first.

SoBe's new lifewater fuji apple pear would make a great mixer ingredient....really liking the crisp flavor. For that matter the new snapple asian pear would also work well.

Random question - what's a good way to get rid of gym equipment you wont be able to use/find space for at a new apartment?

I have a nice gym quality olympic bench (with incline/decline and self-spotting), hex dumbbell pairs in 5lb increments up to 50lbs, and a full stride treadmill with automated incline.

A yard sale seems a complete waste of the initial investment, ebay'ing weights seems like a bad idea for shipping, and i'm fairly sure the Play it Again Sports would totally screw me on the price.

Do i just have the accept these items are going to go for a tiny amount of their retail value and be happy I dont have to lug them up the stairs in California?

Think about Craig's list.

Ebay with a declaration of "pick-up" only too. If you are in a densely populated area you can still get lots of hits. People will drive a long way to pick up heavy stuff.

baglady's husband. I believe the Tampa area would be considered densely populated enough to get a decent amount of hits.

2nd Craigslist - I've done pretty well with that route. Just make sure you have "cash only, local pick up only" clearly defined.

I have found this ro be true. People are wiilling to drive out of their way, spend $40 in gas and bust their back to save $25 in shipping.
