I believe wholeheartedly in giving pickles, but I find pickles as a food item to be completely and totally inedible.

I see The Box has been rather  at keeping up with our FM recently... :p

I was beginning to think that sdm1130, Hartmann, and me were the only ones flying...

I had to endure IAD C/D twice last week. And while A is a little nicer, I'm still not much of a fan; there's very limited food choices down there, and even less so now that the Coci that was there has closed (hope that's not permanent). It can also be very dark and very crowded.

At least B at IAD is pretty nice. Unfortunately if I'm at IAD it means I'm on UA, and usually making the trek from an EMB-170 that arrived at one end of D to a 777 headed to DEN or LAX that's departing from the other end of C, with a nice long walk through one of the most depressing terminals ever built. What's really fun is when the inbound flight arrives a little late, and the outbound is still on time, and you have to run for it through that mess. Oh, and the air conditioning in the lower numbered C gates at IAD never seems to be on. Last Monday when I was I looked at a thermostat on the wall in my gate area and it was 86 degrees in there. Our gate agent said it had been that way for several weeks.

We have found fried pickles here in Fort Worth, and they are killer! Now, every time we go to Jakes, we have to have a basket of them. ^^

Looking south out my office window, EWR is in very dark clouds. Let the  begin.

Just think - if we ever get in-flight internet - we can update it as we fly.

Of course, I'm sure FT will be blocked... ;)

I have to put my FLL segments into the Box FM. Been meaning to and never did it.

I saw fried pickles for the first time the other night on Guy Fieri's show. This reinforces some core beliefs of mine:

1. If someone fries dog$hit, someone will buy it.
2. America will stop at nothing to sell fried anything.

I never thought I would like them, but yep, fried pickle chips were ok by me. I'd draw the line at dog$hit though - even with the dipping sauce.

My fiancee is adamant in her belief that I would enjoy eating bread and butter pickles, despite that dill pickles make me want to vomit. Pickle juice left over in the jar is quite possibly the most vile food byproduct out there. Can't eat pickles or whole olives...maybe it's the curing thing that gets to me. I can't eat martini olives or any kind of whole olive, but I do remember putting black olives on pizza when I was younger. Same inconsistency applies to tomatoes: can't eat tomato and mozzarella at restaurants, can't put tomato slices on burgers, but I can eat diced tomato in Mexican dishes...and a few people in The Box that have eaten with me know that I'm not really a human being, but rather a ketchup-fueled life form.
