I almost feel like joining the fire in the thread. IIRC CO still has a lot of gates at DEN, they lease them out since it's no longer a CO hub so the idea that CO will gain DEN picking up the UA pieces is a no go idea.

I could be wrong, but I thought CO gave most of those gates back a few years ago. From what I remember, UA realized how convenient those gates were since you could walk to them and started bullying CO via DIA to release them.

With WN so fiercely attacking DEN, i'm not sure it makes much sense anymore to have a hub there.

The gates are the least of the issues from CO's perspective. They don't have planes. And they don't have the money to get them or the desire to compete against WN, F9 and UA at DEN.

I'm sure -- but sfogate clearly stated that the pax she helped had called the HNL station. I guess it's small enough. Can you imagine calling the EWR station for help? Talk about

I had the numbers for B6 at JFK, including all the gates. They were sequential so once you knew one you could just change the last two digits to get the other 24 gates. They all actually have individual DID numbers and can be called directly from the outside. Of course, I threw that piece of paper away the other day when I was cleaning up because it wasn't particularly useful to have, but I did have it at one point.

What is the deal with F9? Are they just operating as normal and reorganizing? There hasn't been much news about them recently that I've seen.

That's because if they could, they would do anything to dump the management team.

Are you suggesting that UA pilots don't like their management team? ;)

The Hampton bed, like most other things Hampton, is outstanding.

While I'm a Hyatt partisan, I will admit that the bed at Swissotel Chicago was ridiculously comfortable. And the Hampton Inn beds I've been in over the last few years (including Evansville, IN) have all been fine.

I know they used to, but I could swear there was an agreement where they handed them back to DIA and F9 leased them directly.

 indeed. I'm sure some outstations are like bars in that they have their regulars that have a pattern. It wouldn't surprise me if fozz had the SAN phone numbers for UA and CO.

I used to have the CO number, but I have no idea where I put it. Honestly SAN is one of those stations you never need to call, they call you. It's really eerie sometimes, but it's neat.

That's the story to the best of my knowledge - I see the F9 planes at gates and taxiing at the same time as usual. The stations that had lost service had already lost service before the bankruptcy filing.

The three best beds I've come across were, in order of fantasticness:

1. Sofitel Queenstown, New Zealand
2. Hotel Pulitzer, Amsterdam
3. Hotel Des Indes, Den Haag

I just got the juiciest PM that I've ever gotten...it's so juicy in fact that some might call it a LAXative.

I honestly don't see CO doing much with DEN. Obviously if they acquired some assets they could do something, but other than that.

If UA does go belly-up, you can bet that DIA will be begging someone to come in.

I suspect F9 is a short-term problem so i wouldn't worry about them. WN on the other hand... there are two things that one can survive in DEN. 1) Chase all the small rocky-mountain/midwest markets that WN doesn't touch and an international operation. UA has the first but every time they try the second it fails.

I can only proffer two as being truly remarkable:

1. Swissotel Chicago
2. Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome*

* my first room; the second room (after nearby smokers ...) had two twins pushed together

Everything else is quite distant.

The beds at Hampton are Serta Perfect Sleepers modified for hotel use. I've seen the Serta trailer and the plastic wrappings when I stayed at one near ORD.

Back before I really started to detest the UA forum, I remember being in there and reading about the VFF's gripes about international service and DEN. Everything from how the geography isn't right to the timing sucking because of geography, all kinds of stuff.
