6 am flights are not fun

I actually enjoy them :)

Sounds tasty.

Morning, Box. Round 3 of the seasonal mini golf challenge today. Maybe sometime in the next few years, my fiancee will abandon the idea that do-overs are permitted.

For anyone that is considering PHL for hibachi, lunchtime arrivals as icurhere2 has booked would be advisable. I'm repeatedly saying that I'm available unless getting a job gets in the way, and that applies to the entire day. No reason people can't fly in a little on the early side and maybe make a side trip out to USS New Jersey or something.

EDIT: 7,3:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ubuntu. I've got things running better now but it was a challenge, mostly due to nVidia's long-storied and continued incompetence in releasing certified drivers.

Also advisable considering what happened with the WX at the IAH mini DO.

Consolidate is an interesting term. Basically, in true UA style, they decided to abandon Florida in favor of pushing people on US. MIA is mostly RJs at this point. Though I did see a UA 763 at FLL a few months ago.

I have generally had amazing luck from the UA lounge dragons.

My MR this weekend hit a pause button on Friday. As we roll up to the runway to take off, I hear the Captain tell the tower we need to return to the gate. No details and then ATC was turned off. We get to the gate and the guy behind me 2A gets escorted off by some GS reps. Then we all get told that there was a suspicious device and note found and that we'd all have to get off.

At this point I was going to miss my connection and while this was a MR, I had some work I was going to take care of in SD.

Went up to the lounge and after a bit of going back and forth, the agents moved the rest of my flights to next weekend and didn't give me a hard time about it.

All in all, i'm impressed with the way they handled it. I'm glad I didn't take the flight. What was supposed to be an 8:30pm arrival turned into a 1am arrival into SFO.

You got it! We'll see you in the lounge.

 to nVidia and their Linux drivers. Over the years, I too have spent many hours fighting with them.

Unfortunately, population density has always been a factor; air travel - many of us flew yesterday just to fly - is a complete game changer.

A visit to the New Jersey might be too familiar for some.

Not surprised. There was SARS just 6 years ago, and the last world-wide flu pandemic was called "Hong Kong Flu" afterall. And with recent bird flu problems, they have had to kill lots of poultry and locals can't get chicken or duck. Since pork is the main meat they consume there, any issue with pork supply will be serious.

I know I'm going to start receiving calls and emails and text messages from my HK-based family and friends to warn me of this and that... ;)

Edit... I mean... Haha.

My feelings are hurt. :( Not one of you (and that includes you Fozz)
gave me any notice that you were going to be in town.

Just joking.....if any of you are stuck at SFO tonight, I'll be at work at 8pm if you need something to do. You can visit me at the gates and play Gate Agent for the Day. :D

I'm off to another soccer game today. I hope that this game is as good as yesterday's win.
