Migration to linux is mostly complete. That whole process was a big . At least I've been enjoying Shiner Bock while I was working.

Also, it's strange to hear that sbm12 passed on drinking for anything. :p

Second he passed on the mod dinner which not only featured a lot of cameraderie but a truly open bar which included all of the top shelf stuff, the entire wine cellar (including the bubbly), and quite a respectable dinner.

All this for a silly-assed SK flight to TPA crammed into one of their lovely coach seats. TPA will still be there tomorrow but all of the other stuff went away tonight. Some guys just do not know how to live.

I certainly did make a few mistakes in my planning. What can I say? I'm young and foolish. Plus, I had an MR to catch this morning. And I spent most of Friday night on the phone working, despite being out to dinner with a group of FTers.

I now have been educated very much by the mod group in FLL as well as by my few mistakes and I hope to do better next time. :p

My first flight today is delayed two h:rolleyes:urs due to crew rest from a late arrival last night. The ticket agent reviewing my itinerary was very confused as to why I was going to SAN then LAX then SFO/ONT. I could see the screen and all my connections are still valid so I told her not to touch anything, but she was very confused.

At least there is free WiFi in TPA.

We just arrived HKG and they are on DefCon 4 on this. Lots more screeners at the airport and the local papers are having hysterics.

I guess business just must be so good...

...they don't need any more money?

My company always books me in Coach and when I fly inter-asia; I pay to upgrade. I've done it about a zillion (that might be hyberbole) times.

Cathay would not do it today. They said my fare was "too discounted" and was not upgradable. I spoke to two different folks at the ticket counter and no go.

Is that dopey or what?

Morning Box!

We are heading out for an early morning Lowe's run, then Day 2 of staining the deck. This deck is so much fun in the summer, but the bain of our existence during the spring.

No flights this weekend, but great MR's the next two weekends: FRA on my own May 2-3 (with sdm1130 and Hartmann on FRA-EWR, right?), and then the direct CLE-LHR May 7-10.

Gotta make up for lost time... :)

Enjoy the day, the draft, some baseball, and the sun.

Nope. You passing through IAD today? Or JFK?

I just checked the schedules and my alternate routing if I misconnect in IAD (currently only have a 30 minute window based on the delay) is IAD-JFK-SFO that still gets me out to SFO in time to catch the ONT flight. I might just get to try p.s. F after all.

I tried that with CO TATL, the response was "not possible". The next day they gave it to me for free. Airlines can be very  at times.

I always get amused at the reacts of airline personnel at some of the things we do.

Well I am up and going to complete my voucher run to OKC. Leave now and get the car back by 10:30. Then I may stop off in a small town on the way one and go shopping. Hope everyone MRing this weekend is having fun and enjoying themselves.

Morning Box!

Good morning as we prepare to welcome some of the left over weekenders who are determined to attack a stash of 18 year old single malt that had somehow slipped out of the backpack of a certain Scot when he sat down for dinner on Friday evening. ;)

If sbm12's MR plans do finally implode, he would certainly be welcome to reverse that NK experience and return to South Florida so that he can start to enjoy life more fully. :D

Much obliged. Though I will most certainly take advantage of my Avis rate rather than NK should such a situation become necessary. :p ;)
