To quote the unofficial CO dictionary:
Platinum Elite
Continental's highest status level. This can be achieved by flying 75,000 miles or 90 segments in one year. It can also be achieved if you can prove to Continental that you have a pulse and have been on an airplane before. (The latest promo was three high-fare roundtrips for platinum status.) With platinum status, your upgrades can now fail to clear five days out, instead of three for gold or one for silver! At the airport, though, it does help when you're fighting for that upgrade.

That sodium bonanza they serve on UX ORD-IAH in F has a pasta salad that expires in 2012... Say no more...

Much rather prefer a fresh little sandwich, a bag of chips and a Twix.

Anyways, my flight didn't clear either..

Wow - The Box is dead today.

For your Monday afternoon, here is a video of US1549 being towed through the streets of NJ...

With a little body work and some air freshener they will have it up in the air in a few months.

I don't know the specific location, but I read that they were taking it to a "scrap yard" in Harrison. It's supposed to be there for the next 12-18 months as the NTSB finishes their investigation.

My DO flight is showing F9, but I know better than to expect an EWR-IAH upgrade to actually clear. :)

Do you guys know much about the Y/B fares?

Do the elite upgrades of Y/B fares come out of the F bucket? So, if F was available and you were bookd in Y/B, you essentially had a F seat? You don't have to wait until the 5 day EUA window right? If F > = 1, and you booked Y/B, then you have a F seat guaranteed when you purchase your ticket, at anytime, correcto?

Yes. Y/B gets you a seat in F if there's one available.
