There's plenty of it! My heat-bringing powers appear to be trumped by French Canadia. Walking home last night from the restaurant, our bottle of Quebec Sparkling Ice-Cider was nice and chilled by the time we got back to the hotel. The W here is phenomenal. They upgraded us to a nice suite that comes with a 3G iphone (GPS Google-Maps functionality has come in quite handy). Tried to book Pied au Cochon at the last minute, with no luck (not even via Amex Plat Concierge). Ended up visiting Globe Restaurant instead, which turned out to be excellent. Crispy Bison Tartare and Braised Lamb Shank with Curried Fingerling Potatoes and Swiss Chard = ^ ^ ^

We decided to ditch Ottawa in favor of Quebec City for New Year's proper. Should be even frostier up there. :D

Hope all Box Denizens have a happy New Year!

Blah for CO. My wife is up in BOS w/ our infant child. She snagged a bulkhead - 5A on check-in yesterday for BOS-IAH. Bulkhead + lap child = close to heaven on an aircraft. Gets to the airport and finds out the bulkhead seat is gone due to change of aircraft. Now stuck in 15A. At least for those who were on the upgrade waitlist liked the extra 4 seats in F. She'll manage. I wonder how her neighbors will like her going in and out all the time. Lots o' diaper changes on an 8 week old baby.

She could just change it on the tray table and trigger a histrionic FT Thread.

Good idea! I should have mentioned that to her before her flight left.

Enjoy QC. We loved spending time in Montreal and QC. It is such an easy drive from the northeast USA. Try Poutine! You'll love it - though your arteries might not like it.

I'm booking now, with hope that rationalization will come later. At 2.2cpEQM and 12K EQMs banked it is a pretty decent fare for domestic. My only problem is that on day 2 I get to SEA too late to catch the EWR non-stop, saving me some Amtrak time/money.

I booked back to back trips on 3/6 and 3/7 to at least give myself 24 hours to think it over. Unfortunately, the weekend before doesn't work for me.

Like it or not, if an employer overpays you, and you are on direct deposit or have already deposited the check, they have every right to demand the money back immediately. Many will offer to just adjust the next paycheck, but there's risk in that, as there's no guarantee you'll have a next paycheck, or that if you do, it will be enough to cover the adjustment. I see this all the time in my work, and am actually surprised your payroll person was willing to let the previous 20 hour overpayment just slide. I'm not surprised it was caught in an audit though. Payroll records are one thing that auditors expect to balance to the penny every time, and we catch lots of hell from them when they don't, and the error wasn't found quickly and immediately corrected.

The weird part is that she told me that she would let the first 20 hours of overpayment slide if I just would pay back the second over payment.

Looks like CO just zeroed out the L bucket on all their flights. I can't find anything on CO metal at the "sale" price anymore.

And just like that...poof. It was gone.

Hmmm - I still see the fare on 3/6 and 3/7.

Good choice! I haven't been to either, but from what I've seen and heard, Quebec City is probably far more interesting than Ottawa.

I think we need to make a weekend trip up there sometime soon. My other half hasn't been, and I know he'd love it.

And that just says to me that she's the wrong person to be in that job.

That is an understatement. Scary part is she is still in that position. It is a semi-government job.

It's back. I'm playing with it now.

Redeeming miles for two J seats to Asia is officially a pain. Fortunately, travel is still about 8 months out.

Boeing factory tour or Museum of Flight?
