The simulator captain said that the 757 and the 762 a very close to each other. The same with the 764 and 772.

Once again, there are all kinds of things I could say. None of them appropriate.

One of the selling points Boeing used for the 757 767 was the common rating. If you use both aircraft you don't need seperate pilots for each type. As for the 757 being a heavy that has to do with the wind vortex it sheds as it's simular to true heavies. This is to provide further time/distance to other planes during approach and after take off. I think the heavy designation is what may have killed of the 757 program in the end.

Yes... I did find another one I was tempted to post, but it just was not appropriate either.

according to boeing.com orders dried up of 9/11. Also at the end of 2000 757s made up only 4.9% of boeing's orders. Also the fact that the 762 is just so close to the 757 also had something to do with it.

G'morning Box!
Catching up on the ALPA thread too way too long this morning. There are some very interesting points of view coming out but none of it is coherent (just like the rest of FT) so I don't really know what to think about any of it. I do think that it is time to have some more fun with the ALPA folks and my Do website. After all, if I can continue to generate traffic on the site and pick up a couple AdSense clicks then I can afford to buy more tickets on CO, which is what they need, right? ;) And I must be missing some of the pictures, because I haven't publicly seen anyone posing in any pictures commando, which was suggested, or really otherwise too explicitly. Legs up on the center console, yes, and that is marginal, but I have a photo with my feet just over Larry's desk and I don't really see much of a difference. And people had bottles of beer hanging out the window, not champagne. but enough of trying to correct the facts. What fun is that. Oh, and I'm very possibly now moving in to the pre-dinner, dinner and post-dinner group for tomorrow rather than just post-dinner. |

There are far too many threads floating around right now that are driving me crazy! People complain and get worked up over the smallest things. Why can't we learn to just chalk up loses, take a deep breath and move on with life? There are SO many more things in life that we should be more concerned about. It's really quite sad...

Just booked my Bachelor Party AMS flights. Outbound on the new 772 flight, return via EWR on a 762. ^

The Significant Otter surprised me with a Couples Massage at a Day Spa here in MSY this morning. I thought I was being shuttled around to assist with random chores. :D

I just realized looking at some photos I didn't post that I could have possibly got on Mystery Tour II. There were about 30 no shows and their envelopes were at the hotel. I could have asked one of the volunteers to see if any had the ticket and then jumped on the bus just as it was going to leave as it was clear they weren't going to be able to use it. Oh well 20/20 hind sight.

I have yet to get a reply on ALPA. Oh well I figured I'd bring up how my family had been treated by union thugs for being non union (when he was there before they even had a union!)
Anyway it was fun but I am done there too, I was given some wise words by someone else in PM :) |
