Below is an upgrade notification e-mail. Is this the new format or an error? Also my frequent flyer number is not displayed fully; it shows all the digits except the last one.

You've been upgraded from Houston, TX (IAH - Intercontinental) to Austin, TX (AUS) on Wed., Jun. 25, 2008. Your new seat will be assigned upon check-in or at the departure gate. Below is a recap of your flight information:

Mr. OPFLYER
OnePass/Partner Frequent Flyer:

Continental flight 1541
Depart 2:40 p.m. from Houston, TX (IAH - Intercontinental)

I just got exactly the same for IAH-ONT Wednesday. When I checked, I had been assigned 3B.

Was your OP number incorrect?

DD/MM/YYYY Format issues

STILL having a problem with dates when using DD/MM/YYYY format.

When making a new reservation, typing dates or selecting from the calendar on the initial page works fine. But if trying to make any changes to the search on the bottom portion of the results page, it returns the error:
! Only dates between 22 Jun., 2008 and 25 May., 2009 can be accepted for the Depart Date. Please modify the Depart Date and or Depart Date Time.
You can then go directly to the "Search" button at the bottom of the screen without making any changes and it works. It seems as if certain portions of the website do not accept the DD/MM/YYYY format. Obviously there is a workaround, it's just annoying.

I think this is an obscure bug, searching reward travel tonight I was trying for CLE-GCM, it would present the following error when searching for departing Thursday August 28th (and also Friday, August 29) , returning Sunday August 31.

Continental or its partners offers service between Grand Cayman Island, Cayman Islands (GCM) and Cleveland, OH (CLE) on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays.

Even searching non-reward travel presented the same error message for selecting any departure on a Thursday or Friday.

The message should be changed to not include Thursdays or Fridays or the schedule changed to include them...

Question Attack of the evil seat map

Here is an interesting glitch
I was booked on flight erw-pbi 757-200 on 6/16 seatmap showed row7 as blue(open) and tried to obtain 7c and the seatmap would not let me have the seat. The seat selector then decided to put me into 20a .
I went back and tried to change to 7C again. Again the seat map moved my seat to 11A ( ok better than 20a ).
After several attempts in trying to get the open seat in 7c I called the OP line they also had the same problem again they tried several times .
The agent called in a supervisor, He tried it with the same result he even tried all the blue seats that showed open with no result.
They called in the webhelp folks and still the seatmap beat them. The map would not allow anyone even a Plat into the blue exit rows.
Webhelp reported the problem and told me keep checking back.
Final result was at 24hr mark i tried again to get 7c but now row7 showed entirely full.
I did get to go to 9d which was fine, But it was a frustrating adventure.

On other booking since then this problem has not occured.
SO......
Can anyone figure out what happened?
Has anyone else had a tangle with the possessed seat map?

I had a Y reservation that I used the 'upgrade' feature for. It confirmed the upgrade and when I went back to the reservation, that flight disappeared though the connection was still listed.

A quick call to the elite desk who confirmed the flight was still there. They offered to resend the receipt which may kick it and sure enough, it did and the segment shows up again.

CO.com is still showing 0% EQM earning for the bus service between EWR and ABE.

According to CO Insider, this service started earning EQMs in January 2008.

I booked a reward reservation that had AS, NW and VS flights the other day. When I pull it up, it says "Thank you for choosing Continental Airlines. Your purchase is confirmed. You will be promptly notified once the internal processing of your reservation has been finalized so that you can request additional receipts, export to Outlook, refund or change your flight, view/change seats, check-in, or e-mail or print your itinerary."

Then right under it, it says: "We will hold this reservation until midnight Tue., Jun. 24, 2008 Central Time."

I was quite confused as I thought I held it, but there was no option to complete it and the first message implies it's already being ticketed.

A call to the elite desk and they said they had no CC info on their side to ticket so it was just a res.

Clearly something isn't right with partner reward reservations. There was no "complete purchase" option on the page when i pulled it up.

I have a BOS-IAH itinerary where I upgraded the return with miles to first class. The outbound is still economy but I notice there is no line for the Elite Upgrade On/Off setting. Does this imply that I'm not on the list for EUA assuming there's seats left at the 5 day window?

I had an itinerary i changed online. The old ticket was a full Y and the new one was an H. It told me it was going to refund $10 to my credit card. After proceeding through all the screens and hitting the 'Reissue Ticket' button, i got an error saying it couldn't complete the transaction.

Funny thing, it changed the itinerary and reticketed the res. It just didn't refund the $10.

According to COInsider and other things I've read, seen, and experienced, the Elite Upgrade On/Off setting is really there to allow you to turn the option off if you don't want to be considered for an EUA. The default in the system is on,whether or not the Elite Upgrade On/Off setting shows on a segment.

If you click on 'View/Change Seats' and then click on Continue, the message usually appears for all eligible segments.

I no longer pay any attention to the setting.
