as i wasn't familiar with treacle tart, i had to look it up. wikipedia says "It is prepared using shortcrust pastry, with a thick filling made of golden syrup, also known as light treacle, breadcrumbs, and lemon juice or zest"
oh, i can hardly wait to have pastry (carbs), sugar (more carbs), and breadcrumbs (and even more carbs) all in one serving. is this wikipedia description accurate?

i lived in switzerland for 30 years. just moved here 5 years ago. i've never seen or had tarte au sucre. i looked it up and see that it has eggs and milk so i'm guessing it's a bit like a flan.
don't get me wrong, i like pastries et al but i'd much rather have a fruit pie or similar than something that is only sugar and flour.
who knows, i might even try this treacle in a few weeks as i pass through the CCR.

I've never really seen lemon zest in treacle tart and juice would only be to stabilise it so you wouldn't really feel it. Since you are Canada-based, it is quite reminiscent of the "tarte au sucre" they eat in Quebec, or for that matter of the filling of pecan pies (minus the pecans!) in the US. It is a British classic and the one in the CCR (formerly served in GF too!) is quite good.

Any thoughts on which is better - the treacle tart or raspberry cheesecake?

Both the burger and ribeye were overcooked, they had good parsnip soup, a nice greek salad and an excellent asparagus dish.
And n.b. I was fortunate to reserve the chicken tikka for the onboard meal, they only boarded mine, and it was far better than the (again, way overcooked) filet mignon, so I'd recommend pre-ordering if you can.
Finally... I have to say, first experience with BA F, very disappointed with the lack of dedicated security (the "Fast Track" was as long as the regular line and moving half the speed), and no transfer to the aircraft (Satellite C). LH is far better in this regard. Onboard service was excellent.

Personally, I don't like to eat too much in lounges as I like to eat on board too so I tend to limit myself, but if you have a bigger appetite than me, then certainly nothing wrong indeed with having both.

I'd personally choose treacle tart over cheesecake, if only because you can have cheesecakes everywhere. I haven't had it with that icecream but it sounds like an interesting pairing too. But I agree with chris1979 portions are not that big anyway.

But the menu will have changed by then!! It changes every month. In general though, the desserts are one of the things CCR does best in my opinion. Cheese plate is repetitive but nice, some starters tend to be good. Main courses tend to be the weakest part IMHO.

For good starter options, the asparagus with soft poached egg is nice as it the crab tortellini. The tortellini comes with a lobster bisque (served on the side for those who do not like or are intolerant to dairy), it works rather well with the tortellini. Quite tasty too.

Yes, the treacle tart is on it's second month so will disappear at the end of this month.

I tend not to have the deserts, unless one of my favourite types appear ... such as the delightful salted caramel chocolate cylinder or perhaps a nice panna cotta or 'burnt custard'.
