You don't want another 241 voucher next year then?

Hi all,

I wanted to ask:

I'm thinking of applying for a BA Amex PP card.
If I get someone to refer me then the referrer gets 9k bonus points and me 19k after approval/spending £3k.

Will I still get the bonues 18k that's publically offered? (ie 19+18k = 37k)

No, you'll only get the 19k miles, not both.

BTW you might be better off getting referred by Quidco (and getting £45) than getting your friend to refer you.

Agreed, the £45 is worth more than the extra 1000 Avios for being referred.

It's the same card - 18,000 Avios when you spend £3000 in the first three months, 1.5 Avios per £1 spent and the companion voucher when you spend £10,000 in a membership year.

Yes but it doesn't happen often and not always at 100% bonus rate either.

If they are UK MR points you should definitely read this:

To be more precise (!), it never ever happened, and then all of a sudden it happened twice last year, first 40% and then 100%. Both were targetted to random people.

There was also a 100% bonus on the IDC card mentioned above, which would effectively be a 210% bonus if repeated - 55% bonus on the initial amount (at £1 - $1.55 conversion) plus 100% on the transfer! However, to be clear, there is no sign that this will be repeated in the near future.
