777-300ER (77H)
I am travelling with my wife and young son next month to Chicago and originally it was a 777-200 and we selected row 17 A, E and F with our son in E so we can both keep an eye on him.
However, with the aircraft switch to the 777-300, and studying Aerolopa, it looks like 18E and 18F might actually be better for my son and wife as 17A seems to have a better "view" into 18E.
Would anyone with familiarity of these seats let me know which they think would be best.

You definitely want at least one parent on the same aisle as your son (so A+E or F+K) since switching sides will require walking through the galley or passageway. To that end, row 18 is a good choice since it's right in front of the crossover. It probably also makes sense to have an E+F pair to be able to somewhat easily reach into the seat, eg during meal service.
I'm not sure there's much value in the A seat, though. You might actually consider something like 17E+F and 18F, where your son takes 17F and one parent is behind him in 18F. This would make it pretty easy to see if he gets up, and also, you can sort of reach into the seat from behind (while standing). You don't say how young he is, but if he needs help going to the toilet I'd put him on the F side since that aisle has the wheelchair accessible (ie: larger) toilet.

I have looked at many posts in this thread but have not seen much information for the lowly Y traveller.
We are flying to the US on a 77M, and the window-aisle twin pairs way down the back are open. Any downside with picking these versus picking 2 (aisle-middle) in the centre 4 a few rows ahead
I believe there is no recline in the very last row, but wondering about the rows ahead of that.
Thanks in advance

Very true re this earlier departure. Hope you enjoy your flight and post back how you get on if possible?
My strategy would be to get up very early on the day of departure, stay up and hopefully by 8pm IAH time you might be ready for a sleep.
That's what I used to do when going to the West coast USA as I liked the early flights back. It could also be my age on the wrong side of 50 and liking early nights as well as an afternoon nap

Both meals were disappointing, and the service wasn't great. It wasn't very proactive, and the times I asked for another drink or dessert (which wasn't offered after the main meal), it felt as though I was an inconvenience.
This was a one-way booking, and I returned to IAH with KLM, which made for an interesting comparison. The quality and quantity of the meals - and service overall - in KL's world business class was much better (admittedly a day flight vs. a night flight), although BA's hard product was definitely the better of the two.

I was looking through this thread but did not found crew rest seats on 777-300, does anyone have any insights? I am flying to JNB and would like to select Club World seats whilst minimising the risk of being bumped. Thanks!

777-300 with no First Class suites?
Hola!
Just booked seats in business class to LHR from LAX on a BA 777-300. Selected row 3 which, in the past, was part of the first class cabin. It appears the first class cabin was removed when the plane was upgraded with BA's new business class suites. Business Class used to begin in Row 5. On this particular flight Business Class begins on Row 1.
QUESTION: On a plane refurbished this way, do the seats occupying rows 2-4 have windows? When the plane had first class suites, those rows didn't have windows.

Or it's a 3 class BA 777-200 without a F cabin.
Either way, without knowing the flight or date in question it's impossible to give you concrete information however.
All of the BA 777-300's (77H) operate in a 4 class configuration.

I think all 77W Club Suites begin row 5. They all have windows. Below image and link to window locations

Yes. I've seen this seat map. That's why I'm confused. The flight is code-shared with AA but it's "operated" by BA and its flight plan lists a 777-300 as the plane scheduled for the flight. I don't understand.

No BA 777-300 is without First, so presume maybe AA is showing the wrong aircraft type? But still odd, as LAX tends to use First equipped aircraft…
