There is an informal guarantee of Club Suites on the JFK route. You would be very unlucky if it was the old layout and you may be permitted to change to another flight that day if it were to happen.

Based on the seating chart, my LHR-JFK is the old CW (and almost completely full). Do we have options to change? If so, would that include AA flights?

I don't know for certain as I've not tried it but I would say you'd have a reasonable case at requesting a change on that specific route. You'd have more chance if your aircraft has been changed from CS to the older style since you booked it. It might be a stretch to request an AA operated aircraft. Why not call BA and report back here with what you find out...

It took me multiple phone calls with BA lasting a total of 3-4 hours to discover this seemingly unknown policy Will BA rebook if flight delayed 8 hours? - FlyerTalk Forums I need a rest from calling them.

I think there can be a bit more vibration on those units attached to the bulkheads but on a 777 there's plenty of vibration anyway. But the seats are identically made and a lot of the debates we can legitimately have on legacy CW seating - in my opinion - now falls away. It's essentially down to what to do for couples and families, but the seat itself doesn't vary.
Still talking about the 77L here, would you choose the front cabin or the mini cabin? Right now I have 11A and 12A. Any worries about the bassinets in row 10? Is the front cabin a better choice?

I personally think it's all pretty much the same. To reiterate, whereas there are significant differences with legacy CW, with CS the differences between seats, if any, are small. If it looks right for you on the map, then it probably is.

Thank you for the help, as always.
Our return is on the 77W (or 77H). I read the whole thread but no one really recommends the best pair. The mini cabin is full. We have 9A and 10A but pretty much everything else is open. Thoughts?

It's the same for the 77H which is also fitted with Club Suites.

We seem to have drawn the 77H for our flights to and from MLE next year. Obviously this could change, but I was wondering what the collective wisdom would say about the best WT seats for a family of three in that configuration. Currently eyeing either 49ABC of 49HJK, which looks to be the last row of the three-seater blocks. Can't do row 40 (exit row) as child is considerably younger than 12, so looking for the next best thing.

Thoughts welcome!

For the older (fwd/back) J configured 777 - how is the access to the window rear facing seats (A, K)?

Would there be an issue for an older person (who does not have explicit mobility issues, but nevertheless as all people of age may not be too nimble)?

If the aisle person you have to climb over is not stretched out, there will be no problem. If they are sleeping, it will be a big issue since it is hard to climb over if you are not too fleet footed.

Oh, didn't realize that's the design. Actually looks like it's 787 cw - same overall layout though.

So thinking either 1B or 3K to avoid stepping over anyone. How tight is the passage out of 3K?

The gap to get out of 3K is not extremely sizeable but I have never noticed an issue with people struggling to get in and out. Plenty of photos online if you want to check it out.
If you want window and unrestricted access, my choice is 3A followed by 3K.
1B is a good aisle seat since nobody climbs over you but you do get a lot of foot traffic with people going to the front toilets and galley as well.

Flying out to Jamaica from LGW in J, old club seats but suits me and the wife fine as we like to sit together! Looks to be the 32J configurations.

From the seat maps, I am guessing row 4 would be the best seats for a centre pair, even though one is a bassinet so currently blocked, as you would have direct aisle access?

Is it T-72h the bassinet seats normally open up? I have searched, it looks like this may not be standard practice anymore so I may have to call. Appreciate any advice!
