772 is the ICAO designator for the 777-200, whereas 77L is an internal BA code for their 777-200 with the new CS interior.

makes total sense! I believe I wouldn’t have even thought twice about it but on flightaware for this route, it had one aircraft number as B77L. It sowed the doubt

Just to confuse you even more, 77L code is also the code for the 777-200 Long Range that Boeing makes. However, BA does not have any long range designated aircraft.
But for BA, the code 77L is internal and they do not advertise this when you book it.

wonder why just this one upcoming flight has the 77L. Maybe upcoming shows layout and once it goes it’s the 772 as expected?

Never seen this before. Can’t see BA confirming internal subtypes. Very interesting to see though.

Just recently flew on a 28-year old 772 (G-VIIA) from SEA to LHR and it was a horrible experience! Such incredibly dry air, very noisy, poor temperature regulation. Think it's about time BA got rid of these old birds.

Off to Philly with the gaffer in the spring. Flagged as a 777-200ER. I think we've settled on middle seats for at least an attempt at conversation. We'll probably opt for row 5 or the like but I'm (vaguely) intrigued as to why rows 10-14 are slightly more popular. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I wouldn’t read much into it. It could just be one family/booking that decided that combo worked best for them.

And/or possibly if paying are the seats slightly cheaper than the forward cabin?

In my experience the forward cabin tends to book up before the rear cabin - try looking up the flight on expert flyer on dates over the next 2- 3 weeks to confirm . Having been in both there is no difference although the forward cabin might be missing centre overhead bins. I certainly wouldn't pay in advance to be in one over the other. The rear cabin is often?/ sometimes held to allow the forward cabin to disembark 1st so if those extra 30 seconds at arrival are vital I'd suggest row 7. As far as conversing with your travel companion goes, CS just isn't that well set up for it. The centre seats are angled such that each of you are closer to the aisle than to each other and you have to lean quite far forward to see through the open partition. This combined with the high level of background noise means that after a few strained attempts you will likely just opt for the ife in your private little cubicle.

This is true to an extent but I would still say it is quite nice to sit in a middle pair together. You can definitely clink a glass of bubbly with each other, co-ordinate films if you like, and of course it can be fun playing up/down with the divider. In my view they are kind of ideal couple seats - giving you plenty of space and privacy for 'me time' during a long flight while still close enough for sharing together.

What about an aisle and a window seat in CS? Are they angled in a way that a couple can communicate (if the door is open)?

BA282 (LAX - LHR), BA website showing "77W." I'm seeing row 18, two seats by themself. I cannot find any online seating diagram that shows this set-up. Does anyone know where I can find this exact configuration? I'm inclined to take these seats, but I don't trust the BA seating chart on their website. Does anyone have experience with this.
TIA,
Fozzie
