Saturday evenings, AA loads schedules and runs batch processes. This means some scheduled flights might go missing, or your account may show all zeroes, sometimes well into Sunday. It will all come back.
If the website doesn't work try the app, or vice versa.

When I pull up my MSY-LGA reservation, either on the website or using the "Manage trip" link on the app, I get the standard "Act now for a credit for a future trip message," which continues:
(Could I please ask a favor and ask that we not use this as yet another opportunity to bash AA's IT folks. Yes, the website and the app are not perfect, but they've worked pretty well for me most of the time. The issue I am experiencing clearly is something that needs to be fixed. We get that a lot of you are smarter and more talented, and probably better looking, than everyone else, including AA's IT folks; you don't need to show that off here.)
- If your travel plans are flexible, we have a limited time opportunity for you.
- Offers may include a chance to join the volunteer list or a flight change.

So sometimes it does work 🤷

In my experience right when I receive the email, I am unable to get the link to load and I will get an error message but if I give it maybe a half hour or so offers will start to appear. Im not sure exactly why they structured it this way but thats been my experience so far.

I've experienced the broken / does-nothing link situation like you have when I received those emails. But recently when I clicked one for an upcoming trip it took me to a page which had voucher offers in green next to alternate flight options from my flight. Having never made it this far in the process, I was skeptical it would progress to actually make the change and give me the voucher, but much to my surprise it all worked and I was switched from a connection to a Non-Stop and made "money" to boot.
So sometimes it does work 🤷

Thanks. I think I've seen it work, too. The theory I'm going with for now is that the error message appears when there are no other flight options. Obviously that's not what they want (or not what they should want) to have happen, but that may be where they are right now.
In my current case, I have tried several times over the app and the website over several days without any luck.

In my case I think I responded almost instantly when the email popped up.

Perhaps it errors out if they have gotten enough volunteers to change flights and no longer need more. But even if that's the case, it's a lame experience for customers vs. a "thanks but we're good now, better luck next time lol"

in my experience, it always switches over at the checkin window from offers to change your flight to the bidding system.

You were offered cash that far in advance or you were offered to submit a cash bid to volunteer to change flights?

It made sense on a whole bunch of levels to switch, not just because of the cash, but simply the Non-Stop which was originally priced more than my connection, hence I had booked it

It looks like the American Airlines website is showing phantom upgrade inventory again and it is also getting pushed to expert flyer. I'm currently awake in Asia right now and I'm trying to get them to confirm the upgrades and I'm being told that they can't and that there are other people calling and experiencing the same issue as well.

Refund request error
I've been having issues submitting a refund request for the last 48 hours. I get the "Our system is having trouble. Please try again or come back later" message every time. I've tried through the web page, through the app, on an incognito web page, with a different browser, logged in to my account, not logged in, and cleared my cookies. I successfully submitted two prior refund requests a week ago - is there a limit, lol? I've done a search but don't find this specific question asked/answered. Any thoughts appreciated.

The iphone app has logged me out several times the past couple hours, and after logging back in tomorrow's trip disappeared once. Logging out, restarting the phone, logging back in brought it back. I've been logged back out twice since then, but the trip is still visible, so that's a plus.
No issues with website that i can tell.

a) Could not find an imminent trip (got me very worried for a moment)
b) Re-added it, but no longer showed the upgrade requested info
c) App logged me out entirely
d) Logged back in and things are, for now, back.

Just looked on the app store, and it looks like AA pushed an update 3 days ago but my phone hasn't auto-updated it yet. Just did it manually, maybe that helps?
