Welcome feedback. Last fall I was twice flying TATL Polaris from EWR: no champagne - even though it was listed on the drink chart!

Mini Moet was also available at SFO UC a week or so ago, when I asked the bartender. Flying Polaris Class. It was actually served in a champagne glass though!

Mondays I am in ORD so I will ask again at UC B6 for an update on UC C16.

ORD is so sad for UA flyers during Covid. The only PP domestic option, Swissport, is closed and there is no Centurion lounge.

I have to fly AA/AS or DL to have a lounge option at ORD.

My theory is there was a brief portal opened to an alternative universe where there is no Covid and all UCs are operating regularly. It quickly closed.

Has anyone on FT actually paid to keep their club membership? In my small circle of friends, not even those that are back to weekly travel have any desire to pay with majority of non hub locations closed. In my years of travel, my non hub visits equaled my hub visits. 50% doesn’t justify 100% normal price.

I'm more like bi-weekly travel at the moment...As of last I looked my membership is valid through 2/28/22 and we'll cross that bridge when it comes. If I were in the position of renewing today I wouldn't -- my home club (where I spent the majority of my 'club minutes' and also got the most travel assistance bang for my buck is still closed) and the hub clubs are offering very little value in terms of comfort/peace/food. Part of my value proposition pitch when I got the company to pick up the club membership was that I'd save an equivalent amount on snacks and soda from Hudson News ... that hasn't really been the case so much over the past 12 months based on the club food offerings combined with the sorry state of inflight service even in F...

I was tempted to drop mine, but that temptation went away as soon as work put me on a trip that'll take me through every hub next month. Hopefully, some of those other locations at hubs and outstations also come back to the picture soon. of course at some of these hubs you have superior options like LH/TK at IAD but otherwise its pretty much ua everywhere else

You may be tempted to drop it again after you visit all of those clubs.

Believe me, these clubs tempted me to drop long before the pandemic so if they still have me today, there's a good chance I'll stick around a bit longer. Cheap freezer bean and cheese burritos are the glue between me and my club membership apparently (just kidding of course)

A few months ago, when UC dropped the price to $39 per pass, I bought several with my AMEX Plat and got $200 back, so that was worth it.

I value each UC visit at $10, $5 for food and $5 for the ambience.

Once UC moved to "you must be flying on UA or *A metal the same day" I stopped renewing my annual UC membership.

When the Polaris lounges reopen, I will be more than happy to shell out thousands for a lie flat to SIN and have PL access at IAH and SFO again.

That's good to know. When I went through EWR I asked if Polaris customers were being given any special accommodation since the Polaris lounges are closed and the UC agent looked at me as if I had grown a second head.

I was given a card for one drink. Was that your experience as well?

I haven’t renewed yet, but they extended my membership, so I haven’t had to decide yet. I would have preferred a refund but instead got a 2 year membership for the price of one.

When we called to complain about the annual fee on my spouse’s credit card, we got an offer of credit which made it worth keeping.

I suspect most of us have made similar decisions. The only place I really use the membership is in ORD; other places have better PP or Amex options, and nowadays often the only option since so many UCs are closed.

The ORD club does remain a lifesaver on tight connections. It’s a way to get food, drinks, ice, etc quickly, since the ORD restaurants usually have long lines between banks of flights, and in flight eating options are scant these days.
