Let's use this thread to report actually delivery of the packets and comments about the kit contents.

Please no "nothing yet" posts (at least until we get to mid-January (15 Jan 2017 is be more specific) when that mean there is an issue.

If it makes you feel any better.... the Gold, Platinum, and 1K tags are all the same size now with same write-in name surface on the back -- GS has small and medium tags but even the slick-looking carbon GS tags have the write-in name surface. I kind of like the write-in name for privacy reasons (though for those same reasons and others, I prefer not to rock the brag tags in the first place).

Glad to hear you've received your kit!! Still waiting on mine (as are many others)...

Come to think of it, the 2018 1K kit is significantly nicer than the 1MM kit I got last year. The 1MM plaque was two pieces of plastic held together with magnets with a piece of paper in between them. These coasters aren't shabby, although it's also not as if we needed more coasters around our house.

I hope this is close enough not to be considered off-topic: Is it too soon to inquire about the gold luggage handle wrap? I think I heard Jan 23 would be the day to check in for that? Does anyone know or has any 1K/GS got theirs yet?

pictures, please? (so I can drool over them?)

Back to the kits.... how many Star Alliance airlines require the physical UA Gold/Platinum/1K cards for admittance into their lounges? (not just boarding passes showing star gold status)

Thanks!

Therorically none -- *A rules does not require the card if you have *G marked BP. But there may be througe agent that does not understand the rules, where you might need to ask for futher assistances.

Thanks! I've been denied entry on at least two occasions when I didn't have have my card with me. (LH and BR) They would not accept my boarding pass with my *G number... or the UA virtual premier Gold card on the UA official app on my phone. LH agent said "how do I know you didn't photoshop it?" (sorry, but this old geezer doesn't even know how to use photoshop)

Was this in the past year?
Years ago that was a common issue, seems more and more reports the BP is sufficient in the past year. But there still can be a few individual holdouts.
